Ugh, I want all the new Epiphone Futuras, especially the Flying V

Yeah I don't appreciate you showing me that V at all, LOL. That'd be my 4th flying V but probably the one I'd keep. Thanks a lot dude.

But for real....I had the same feeling about the pickups in a Sheraton II Pro.....I got the guitar expecting to rip them out. The probucker ii and iii were excellent and not just "for a cheap guitar" excellent, just decent pickups period in the vein of a 57 classic. The split sounds were killer too I just never use splits. I wouldn't hesitate based on pickups. It's the pots and switch that I'd probably go after with a soldering iron first.

I don’t own a V so it’s next on my list lol. Maybe I get this one, idk. I made a thread where you guys get to tell me what to buy: What Flying V to buy...

Why the fuck doesn't Gibson use that same tail piece/pick guard on their standard V's? I know you can get it on customs but I aintz gotz that kinda money.. but yeah that V and Explorer look pretty hot to me 👀

always thought this was the perfect explorer, one day im gonna grab one

As far as pickups - even when Epis come with Gibson sets, you gotta mess with the wiring and caps to finish the job (not very difficult). Whatever you do, please remove those terrible yellow mallory caps they stock the epis with and swap in some ceramic .033 Gibson uses or values of your choice with PIO.

These look really sweet!

The futura looks cool, I don't know if I will ever want to split coils or use phase switching. Sounds like there are a lot of fans of the stainless frets. I don't think I've ever played a guitar that had them. I'm still resisting the urge to buy new gear. I wish I had the urge to practice like I did as a kid!

Not having to deal with fretwork is nice but they are slightly brighter sounding.

Looks like the Futura V has a neck more on the skinny side....not sure I can dig that or not. Last Epiphone 58 custom V I had was white with the largest baseball bat neck I've ever wrapped my hand around. It was terrible.

I have the urge, just not the time. :( Stainless frets are very nice to play on and are very durable.

I can't say I've ever owned a guitar long enough to require multiple fret jobs, so I'm not sure how great SS frets are outside of a checkbox on a spec sheet, but in theory, they're great in my mind.

I have been pretty rough on some frets by my stabdard and have not needed a fret job, but have my main guitar that I had to level again, taking a decent amount of life out of em. I have known other people who seem to eat through them like candy somehow. Guessing it's their gorilla grip.

SS frets feel crazy slick after being highly polished, but I mean, regular nickel feels pretty darn slick already.

They’re all backordered. The ones that sold are happily in someone’s arsenal.
One of the blue RDs hit Reverb yesterday and sold within a few hours.
