I saw that in my feed but it seemed like A.I so I passed on it.

Hartley Peavey sold his people out. Not sure what's worth reliving about it.

It’s not a fun thing to watch… 39:00 Is where it pops off .. Another company sold out to the global bidding war..

One reason I have respect for Paul Reed Smith....hasn't sold out to the highest bidder and I would imagine he's had plenty of offers now that he is a going concern in terms of market share. He's getting old. I imagine things will go downhill when he dies.

I remember you talking about this. I had no clue he was one of the last mohicans.. That’s respect man. I believe he’s still involved in the day to day.. You know the 3 generation rule… 1 to build it 1 to manage it then the 3rd to piss it all away..

Yeah pretty much. I'd like to own one of the ten top USA guitars made before he passes away. I'm sure idiots will all rush to cash in on "dIs wUz biLt b4 pAuL diEd" pricing. Not sure it'll ever happen but if I ever have another 3 or 4k for a guitar I might be able to swing it. No big deal though, it's just more stuff, but it might generate a few bucks for the wife and kids when I'm gone. All my gigging gear will look like a pile of woodchips so no dice there.

Ohhhh you know that’s going to be crazy.. with their selections these days I wouldn’t even know where to start lol my buddy keeps telling me to grab a silver sky. I almost bought their J-mod 100 amp when it first came out.. but it was too close to two rock prices.. I really liked the sound & thought it would be around for a while.. since it’s Mayer related the scalpers are out on reverb asking insane prices for them now… 🙄 I decided on a two rock but that’s going to have to wait a little longer.

I can't abide a PRS strat for some reason. I swore off strats in 2015, never looked back. Too hard to find a gem among what is mostly bunch of random slabs of wood with a hardware store holding the neck on. I'd be all over a full size set neck 335 from them though. I don't think Paul will do it though. He thinks his hollowbody ii is close enough.

Don’t conform to the standard.. you must piss those guys off at the gigs 💪🏽 lmao Oh man… First time I saw a 335 was when one of the OG’s was schooling me on John Lee Hooker.. I’ve never had the opportunity to play one plugged into the proper amp so I can’t speak on it but damn.. the big frame hollows just look like they have resonance for days.. 😍 I have a fender strat right now.. only one that has felt right to me but I want a hollow or semi hollow someday.. feel like I’m missin out..

That's a really good point

Maybe I should get a PRS someday

Yesssss & share the first banger you make with it.🤘🏽 :m4: The last track you did was dope 🔥 it’s inspired me to get off my ass & back in the studio 😂. House has been under construction so I’ve been on a hiatus… 🙁

Well get that studio up and running so we can hear some jams! We need more RT clips

I'm tired of it being only me, the weird funk led zeppelin cover guy, and the weird viking techno guy posting the only original stuff

On the heels of the documentary about Hamer

Hey I was on his ass last summer about doing my album at his studio . I still think we should . So ya @Omnipotent1 let’s finally do all the shit we planned !

I missed out on the EVH bump. I might take advantage of the PRS bump (if it happens).

There is something about a 335 that works good for me. It's kinda like an acoustic, kinda like an electric. I'm big, it's big. Sits on my hip good. Has almost LP sustain levels but not quite the thundering bass notes. Either one make a great blues guitar really. Less work than the average strat.

Maybe I should get a PRS someday
That's pretty much the last guitar I have any interest in. Either a custom 24, hollow ii, or maybe even a Santana model. Even the SE line seems outstanding for a sub 1k guitar.

LMAO I never came across the other 2 dudes 😂 I need the push & owe tech big time. I’ve heard some pretty awesome stuff come out of RT tho, & definitely feel like we need to contribute. Hearing stuff from the community is really inspiring. Glad to know there’s a lot of talent around here, & people are willing to give solid input. We’re going to need that come mixing time.. 😬

All this gear needs used . I got all the amps and skill ( the amps are why I’m good ) but you got the board the mics . We both got too much shit not to do this

They had no way to compete price-wise given the move by so manufacturers moving their production to Asia. They held out for a long time. No argument that Peavey messed up with most of their employees.

Their main factory building was literally 1 mile long. I interviewed in Meridian in the early 2000's. Ed Van Halen was still with Peavey then. I didn't get the gig because they felt that I didn't have enough experience at the time, but I showed Hartley a pickup design of mine and he looked me dead in the eye and said "You should patent it". Great guy.

PRS did sell out years ago with the SE lone and others. Guitars massed produced in Indonesia and China. The Guitars made oversees for PRS is what keeps them in business. Not much margins at all on USA made guitars

What PRS did and others like them, is keep small USA production to keep the "street cred" alive.

Peavey went full Chinatard.
