The Fall of Peavey

PRS did sell out years ago with the SE lone and others. Guitars massed produced in Indonesia and China. The Guitars made oversees for PRS is what keeps them in business. Not much margins at all on USA made guitars
I don't really fault him for it. He's not trying to become a conglomerate like Fender. He isn't really known for treating his employees like trash ala Gibson. Brands have been going overseas for their entry level lines for 50+ years. He has his own factory section in Indonesia so it's not just some 100% farmed out arrangement. I would bet with the price of a core line PRS the margins are still pretty decent.

They had no way to compete price-wise given the move by so manufacturers moving their production to Asia. They held out for a long time. No argument that Peavey messed up with most of their employees.
Those guys are never willing to reduce their lifestyle footprint though. I guess I've known to many bosses. They'll dock your barely above minimum wage pay, lay people off, or just hire crackhead level help before they tell themselves hey I don't really need a 5k square foot place and a 250,000 boat because families are counting on me. The whole undercover boss thing with Hartley pretty much said it all.

What PRS did and others like them, is keep small USA production to keep the "street cred" alive.

Peavey went full Chinatard.

I'm sure you're right that the imports are the biggest percentage of their business. Having said that, their S2 line is made in the U.S. and they sell a ton of those, but nowhere near the import sales.

All this gear needs used . I got all the amps and skill ( the amps are why I’m good ) but you got the board the mics . We both got too much shit not to do this
Thank you for finally admitting the truth. I knew it the whole time. 😂 Almost there bro 👍🏽👍🏽 I promise you it’s going down. 🙏🏽 In the drywall stage so not too far from the finish line. 🏁

& hire the new help in for more than what they pay their veteran employees. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Hell no they won’t take the hit. They make sure they eat first.. A good leader is selfless (gets in the trenches with their people/knows their people) earns an army behind them, eats last (first stacks the business financially for security & meets the logical expectations of their people before collecting their personal check), & lives well within or below their means.. A great leader CONTINUES to improve/invest into their company. Especially infrastructure & employees along with guiding them towards a healthy retirement. Very few exist today. Many businesses are just cash grabs now, & would rather let their management deal with the revolving employee door. Playing 4D chess with the mindset of their people. When I first saw the undercover boss episode I was like- This is going to be dope! I had no clue it was going to be a horror film.. lol 🤦🏻‍♂️ Makes me look at my OG 5150s & think they were probably made with love, and not regret letting my USA made 6505 go even though it was very sentimental because that shit was probably built with resentment. I digress 😂
