Definitely no safety issues as Mesa transformers are very tolerant of impedance mismatches. But there's always a loss of efficiency, attack and articulation running a 16 ohm cab off of a Mesa 8 ohm tap. Moreso than doing the same on Marshall amps IMO.

I’m curious if they will have any mods or it will be 100% true to the original design. Example: bringing the presence knob to the front.

I sure hope they don’t stuff a cab clone/speaker load in it… in that case… leave the the presence knob in the back instead, I won’t complain

Since they're doing a head & a combo I'm willing to bet they'll only offer a short head, so presence & reverb both on the back.

It's in theory going to be true to the circuit, but not the design. The guts are going to be modern- IOW it'll look like a JP on the inside, not like a vintage amp. That being said, if they literally make a modern RP11 preamp board that would also support vintage amp owners with bad boards, even if it's a modern PCB, that would be super ideal.

Yes, however they can be wired 4 ohm for a correct match.

When we recorded the album I ended up using the 8 ohm Recto cab into the 4 ohm tap on the C+ because I liked the color it gave it on the mic. Live in the band though it darkens it a bit for my taste and loses cut. So, just have to try & see what you like.

Looks like they already took down the page. From what I could see, the build will be using modern manufacturing.

A couple of quick observations:

1) Looks like it will be using a newer PCB method of manufacturing

2) Choke is relocated away from the Power Transformer

3) Standoffs for an output tube shield Guard

4) Mark III pilot light

5) Newer EQ knobs

6) Fan wasn't visible, which leads me to believe it'll be mounted like most modern Mesa's (vertical smaller/quiter fan)

7) Also looks like they relocated the PI tube

Usually but 8 ohm Marshall 4x12 cabs are not unheard of. His Mesa power amps had dual 8 ohm outputs anyway and there's other ways to ensure correct impedance matching when the amp won't allow it, such as parallel boxes.

And I can only imagine how many guys will be turned off by the blue lamp. I'm serious, I think it could be a dealbreaker for many. Just like the Les Paul guys complaining about the pickup covers or inlay colour on 59 reissues.
