Im hoping the reissue is awesome, i loved the mark iv but hated every mark series after, i had bought the Jp2c twice because i was convinced something was not right with the first one. i did not like the feel and had a hard time cutting through in a live mix, i also through it was super noisy.

The V just seemed like a harsh bright mess. I wanted to love it but could never get a good tone out of one.

I played the Vii briefly and it seemed the closest to the iv. I would like to spend more time with this one.

Triaxis is my fav mark tones at the moment but invent been able to experiment a whole lot with the marks

In my personal experience, too much channel switching or additional circuits within a design tend to not sound as great as simple 1 channel amps. There's really no need for a multi channel amp, unless you're a gigging musician who only uses tube amps, don't want to spend away your kid's college tuition, or just want 1 amp that kinda does it all.

This 100%. I've gone back to simple one trick ponies after decades of channel switchers. My hope is the simpler design brings the modern Mark back to it's aggressive roots. My IV is aging (and currently off to Mike B) so it's getting in the too valuable (to me) to leave the house stage of its life.

Having played through all the Marks and having several currently I think from the MKV onwards the amps lost their liquid harmonically rich gain that the earlier MK’s had. The tone lost something with the multi channel addition
More compressed and a little bit fizzy high end. They still sound great, but that magic of the earlier models was lost. Maybe the lack of simplicity with the circuitry ?‍

I do like the JP2C mainly because of the double EQ. At least that’s what my ears hear.

In the same way the older two channel Rectos are more sought after than the newer three channels.

I bought my amps before the craze for them. Nobody wanted these until recently.

• I paid $3300+/- in 2021 for an SRG IIC+ that I later had to get a new head shell as well as servicing and re-capping at Mesa. $300-400 for a new head shell and another $400+/- for servicing, $200-300 shipping. - I made a cool $1000 when selling this one.
• I paid about $2650 for my H IIC, which I sent to Mesa to have the + Mod and a Graphic EQ which ran me about $1700+/- and $200-300 shipping and $300-400 on a new head shell. I lost money on this one because I hooked someone up on these forums.
• My DRG IIC+ was the only one I didn't need anything on and it ran me $5000 in 2022. I broke even selling this one.
• The other IIC+'s in the picture are a friends SG IIC+ and another friends HRG IIC+ & JP2C.

I never took away someone's chance at owning one.. In fact, douchebags in IIC+ facebook groups actively sandbagged, deleted and hid my posts when I tried to sell my IIC+'s at reasonable prices. They like to shit talk me in those forums because I think they're out of their depths trying to sell SRGs for $12,000. I ran a website for cataloging and keeping information on all these amps, but people were ungrateful and it was too expensive to run.

I kind of hate people who buy multiple amps of the same model, they are hard to get and they cost around 10k euros (15-20 for Coli) and one person can end up with 5 or more. That's why I'm glad the reissue is coming. At least collectors can breathe a sigh of relief that they didn't take away someone's chance to touch a legend. If there were no reissue, I would write to such people - Let others enjoy it, you already have one.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; a IIC+ doesn’t have to cost 10-15K euro. You can’t just check Reverb once in a while and expect a cheap IIC+ to pop up. If you truly want a IIC+ for a reasonable price you’ll have to look for it. In fact, I’ll go as far as saying if you haven’t found one for a reasonable price in the last few years you are just lazy. Then you haven’t looked. As with all rare stuff you can’t expect it to fall into your lap. Do you want a IIC++? Then find a cheap/reasonable priced IIC or IIC+. Do the extra work that involves shipping it to Mike B for service and mods. I live in Sweden so I can’t just drive up the road to Boogie and drop it off. I’ve had 6 C+s by now and none of them have been remotely even close to 10K. First one, factory C+ HRG was $2100. There’s a lot of lazy sellers that don’t even bother to research what they actually are selling or wipe the dust off the amp before taking pics when they are listing it for sale. I’ve bought several that were listed as Mark IIB. One C+ and two C’s. These amps are not on Reverb. Almost every country have their own second hand website, that’s where those amps are. I’ve seen so many cheap C+ amps for sale during the last few years. When you find one you gotta act fast because they obviously don’t last long. I saw a IIC+ Coli sell for 990€ in Germany a few years ago. I was too slow for that one unfortunately.

You’ve had exactly the same chance of owning a C+ as me, if you’d actually done the work to find one.

I won’t get the reissue because it’s probably way too expensive for me. With taxes and shit, once they hit the European market they probably will be more expensive than any of the OG C+’s I’ve had. Go figure.

Trust me, I was looking for a cheaper IIC+ and even the amp without EQ was 5k euros (It wasn't even Simul, it didn't even have the switch), I saw those prices on Reverb, on eBay, Guitar Center, just anywhere you could look, and even if there was a cheaper amp it was gone within 5-10 minutes. Scammers have destroyed the entire Boogie market, and it's not just the IIC+. I saw the Coliseum IIC+ for 20k, it's crazy. Of course, you can open 100500 tabs of different sites and check them every 20 minutes to catch a good offer, but people have family matters and hobbies (but this is the only way to catch a good offer, I don't see any other options). It also matters in which corner of the planet you live and whether it is convenient for you to buy, because the price for shipping from the USA, for example, will be quite high. Taxes are killing me. I live in Ukraine, it's very hard to live here, believe me, you read the news and all that, but even if it was peacetime, the salaries are so low that I can't even dream of a Boogie, let alone buy one. And yes, you have every right to say that I am jealous and you will be right, but this does not blind my common sense regarding the market that has gone mad. I love your channel and can only wish you the best of luck with your future videos but I'm far from lazy.

What are your search patterns for finding those deals on a 2C+?
I do find them but they are usually priced in the 5k range. I missed out on a HRG for 3.5k about two years ago. 10k is just oblivious. Those people can sit on their amps for the rest of their lives.

I've never played a JPC2, but the Crunch channel on both my Mark IV & V just fell flat for me. The V's Crunch was better, but even then, if I'm going for lower gain or British tones it's much more satisfying to just play a Marshall.

With all due respect, but the Crunch mode of the Mark V shouldn't be lumped together with the R2 tone of the Mark IV. They're really nothing alike.

The fact that R2 was such a lacklustre tone on my Rev A Mark IV made me sell it and get a little Mark V:25 instead. Now *that* Crunch mode truly is worth the price of admission on itself. I can do classic EVH and tons of 80's hairmetal tones there, as it responds more British. ("oi, ya gonna shag Tawnni Cable there, mate? Splendid choice, guv'nah! Bloody marvellous I'll say." ? )

I've yet to play the full size V and VII to see how their Crunch mode compares to the Mark V:25's, but until then, my recent acquisition of the Caliber 50+ can hold me over for a while and I treat that one as a 1.5 (or 2 ) channel amp too. And of course having plenty of amps (and even some pedals) that can do that British thing well, helps.
Pro tip: Friedman BE-OD Deluxe pedal and lower the internal trimpot to 30-40% of Channel one.

They're definitely out there. My last IIC HG ran me ~$2.5k Shipped/PayPal'd. I sent it to Mike and it came back IIC+/++ ?.

All I can say is use a protected payment system for amps that need to be shipped. There are scammers and junkies out there.

About 1-2 years ago I bought a Factory IIC+ DRG in fair shape from a guy in NY using PayPal for $2k.

The jabroni took the cash, never shipped it, and then sold the amp locally on CL to one of our FB group members for ~$1.8k.

Although it pissed me off knowing the amp was real and the seller was a POS, I was thankful PayPal covered everything.

Long story short, the amp landed in a dude's hands who can truly appreciate it and hadn't had a IIC+ before, so it was a happy ending.

I’m not actively looking anymore. But on most of the market place apps you can turn notifications on for your searches. So you just check whenever a Mesa Boogie or Mark III or whatever gets listed. As I’ve said, some people are too lazy to research what they sell. I’ve seen many C+s listed as Mark IIB or Mark III, or “Vintage Boogie” or whatever.
Google search and search only for the last 24 hours is also a useful tool.

If it’s Metallica tones then yes you want ++ .
But you can eq it a lot to get there and a boost

By the way, for those who are still confused by the names:

HRG - Hundred watt, Reverb, Graphic EQ.
DRG - Simul-Class, Reverb, Graphic EQ.
SRG - Sixty watt, Reverb, Graphic EQ.

And if you saw them with X at the end of the name, then X is Export.

Hetfield's amp was a DG because it was Simul-Class with no reverb and had a graphic EQ.

And K at the beginning of them means Coliseum.
