In all my years of buying and selling amps, Camerons are the ONLY amps, I've never lost any money on. I think that every Cameron I've owned, I sold for more then I paid for. Almost everything else, I've lost money on - lots of it! :aww:

you must not be doing it right ;)

With the new Brad improved (can actually get one) CCV model coming it seems to be a whole lot of Camerons for sale.

Yes it does, but I don't think the other Cameron mods beside the CCV are coming out anytime soon. I don't think the Aldrich tones are available in the CCV, from what I've heard in clips, never played them...

But I hope the new CCV's come out better and more consistent than the old ones. That would be great, we'll have to see...

Im not really wanting to sell mine…just have gas for something bigger….with gas

You see the same thing with almost any trendy amp.

Events can occur that can make ripples in the used market and trigger a sell off.

Trendy amps are like hot potatoes, almost purpose built for the flipper mentality. They can lock you into a continuous buying/selling cycle to mitigate your losses and remain popular on the forums.

I see a few long term holders of these types of amps, but they definitely seem to be in the minority.

Lots of Cali Mods going lately as well and at some wicked low prices. Whats up with the mod'd amp market these days?

There's only that 1 Ceriatone that's for sale cheap. If you have a Marshall JCM800 Cali you can expect it to stay around 2k.

Gear flippers are gear flippers, plain and simple. Those guys sell gear all the time no matter if it is a Cameron, Fortin, whoeverthefuck, blah, blah...

what's you'll thoughts on the modded amps 2 or 3 years down the road?

i'm thinkiing maybe they'll still be the cool thing if there gets to be a bunch of CCV's out there?

I don't think most people will give 2 shits about a CCV that like their modded Marshall tone, except for a dozen or so people around here.

Steve

I give zero shits...

I agree Dan. I see a lot of Ceriatone or Metro kits with the mod selling. My JCM80 Cali is going no where.

I haven't had my CCV for long at all but-I don't see myself getting rid of it. I previously had another but it didn't really sound that great, this one on the other hand sounds amazing. I guess I got lucky this time with the not-so-consistent CCVs. Once it comes out, I'd like to try one of the new CCVs but, I really can't imagine it sounding better :dunno:

But ya-I agree. I think the mod market will remain strong, if not become stronger.

Which serial # is that so we can all avoid it in the flipping market?

I believe Mooncobra had his for sale for less that 2K (Plexi I believe) and there was Metro Cali that I bleieve went for less that 2K as well and maybe one more.

I just want to add that I just sold my ccv as I didn't really think I needed an amp in that price range for goofing around in the basement anymore. We'll I just shipped it off and I will admit I should have kept it as it had major mojo and I didn't think I would ever say that. I will add that I didn't miss my first ccv when it went so maybe there is some truth to the tone differences between ccv's.
