Eh, those are ok…MiJ just like the model 5/6 neck throughs. I bought a brand new 6 way back in 89..cool guitar but then I picked up a real USA version Soloist that I couldn’t afford and realized the differences.

Didn't know that. I had a Soloist for a while but the thing was too damn heavy.
Really cool axe though.

Good guitars, for sure but when you play a model series then a real USA you realize the differences in the wood chosen…tone matters…I didn’t care as much since I was 22 and wanted a neck through model 6 forever since there was no way I could pull off a USA version for 3x the cost

Bought one new in 1981-82 right at $1200 insane at the time. Sold it for about the same.

Watching this right now.. The audio is all over the place.. (n)

The gang is all here

Quick review..
The film is a string of interviews with former employees and players..
The whole super guitar thing started with Eddie when he put a Humbucker in a Strat and changed the sound of rock.. From there everybody wanted one and the scene blew up..
Charvel sold out Jackson and eventually Jackson expanded over seas thereby breaking up the Original Charvel Gang..
But putting yourself back in those days, nobody was building custom guitars..
Oddly tho, Grover Jackson was not featured..

When I was 14 I saved my summer money from pounding survey stakes and mowing lawns and ordered one of the early pointys. Long after Wayne was out of the picture but that guitar was worth every penny of the $1086 I paid. The wait was the most excruciating 5 months ever, I was beyond obsessed. Had that Charvel ad framed in my bedroom.
Gawd I was a guitar nerd full stop. That's still the only guitar I've played to the point of needing a fret job. Still have it.

Fun times!

Ha!! I had the same poster hanging in my room as a teen starting to play guitar. Wanna say 1985?
