Not necessarily your favorites, but albums that are unrepeatable high points to you.

1. Metallica - Master of puppets
2. Megadeth - Rust in Peace
3. Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power
4. Ozzy - No More Tears
5. Pink Floyd - Dark Side

1) Melissa - Mercyful Fate
2) Screaming for Vengeance - Judas Priest
3) Strangers in the Night - UFO
4) Swansong - Carcass
5) Restless and Wild - Accept

I had to plug 6 albums. One is known around here, maybe two??

Spiral Architect - A Sceptic's Universe
Theory in Practice - Colonizing the sun (Brilliant musicianship, Shitty recording)
Cacophony - Speed Metal Symphony (There's never gonna be a guitar-hero duo like Friedman and becker!!)
Atheist - Unquestionable Presence (
Unexpect - We, Invaders (before they started to do "too much" in the weirdo-category, their follow-up "In A Flesh Aquarium" album is unlistenable)
Martyr - Warp Zone (too many riffs that are pure genius that you never heard anything similar in metal)
:rawk:

Not a list of 5 because they dont make ANY albums like they used to but I was listening to The Wall a couple weeks back and it completely blew my mind all over again.....

In no particular order:

Lovedrive - Scorpions
Exile on Main Street - Stones
The Lamb (LDOB) - Genesis
BSSM - RHCP
Blizzard/Diary - Ozzy

AIC: Jar of Flies (the most perfect album ever IMO)
Queensryche: Mindcrime and Empire
Metallica: Anything before the 90's
APC: Mer De Noms
Deftones: Around the Fur
Live: Throwing Copper
Radiohead: OK Computer
Tool: Aenima
Pearl Jam: Ten and Vs.
STP: Purple
Pink Floyd: Most of them, but especially DSOTM
Zeppelin: Physical Graffiti and IV...and II
Soundgarden: Superunknown

Way more than 5, I know.

Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland
Van Halen - Van Halen I
Yngwie J. Malmsteen - Rising Force
Guns N' Roses - Appetite For Destruction
Metallica - ...And Justice For All (for it's long, progressive song structures and lyrical themes)
NIN - The Downward Spiral
NIN - The Fragile
TOOL - Aenima

....just to name a few that come to mind.

AC/DC. Back In Black

Ozzy/Randy. Blizzard Of Oz

Iron Maiden. Number Of The Beast

Priest. Screaming For Vengeance.

Metallica. Master Of Puppets.

Pink Floyd. The Wall

Boston. Boston

Journey. Escape

VH. Fair Warning

Iron Maiden - Live After Death
Deep Purple - Machine Head
Rainbow - Rising
Chick Korea Electric Band - Beneath The Mask
U.K - In The Dead Of Night

Ozzy - Diary of a Madman
Queensryche - Empire
SRV - Couldn't Stand the Weather
Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs
Matchbox Twenty - Yourself or Someone Like You (Don't judge me - it's one of very few that I can listen to start to finish...)

I'm all over the map and more than a little ADHD when it comes to music choices

1. Thin Lizzy Live and Dangerous
2. Riverdogs - Riverdogs
3. Gretchen Goes to Nebraska - King's X
4. Pyromania - Def Leppard
5. Operation Mindcrime - Queensryche

AC/DC - Let There Be Rock
No big budget rock band would dare sound that raw and unpolished today...or probably since 1983

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath

Pink Floyd - Dark Side

Queen - almost anything from the 70's and The Game

Rollins Band - End Of Silence
Was bummed when following albums abandoned the long jams and kept everything to more regular 3-6 minute structures. Great fluid musicianship with real raw power as well.

Honorable mention #6
Iggy and The Stooges - Raw Power

Anything produced by Mutt Lange that does not have a Rockman on it.

AC/DC - Back in Black
Van Halen - VH1 & 1984
Badlands - Badlands
Boston - Boston
Blue Murder - Blue Murder

Pink Floyd: Dark Side Of The Moon
The Eagles: Hotel California (Flame me if you like)
Black Sabbath - Any.
Led Zeppelin IV: (Unless you're a Wolfmother fan :aww: )
The Beatles: White Album

My favorite stuff has been guitar instrumental rock for a long time now...Satch, Vai, Morse, Schackinger, Johnson and so on.

However, in keeping with the title of this thread:

Pink Floyd - DSOTM
Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs
Eagles - Hotel California
Queen - A Night at the Opera
Boston - Boston
