Thank you much dude! a lot of great players here!

hey mark what do you use to get your level to be so loud on the recording?
i have garage band but the channel and master compressor is kinda lame.

ps love your vibrato, phrasing, and tone!

All of that was done on a guitar port in Rifftracker both of those are my main practice devices.
Thanks for the props man, i appreciate it!

best i could come up with:

https://soundcloud.com/mentoneman/rockst ... -jam-remix

don't really have any decent mastering tools so my track volume was lower than yours..and it's as angry as i can make my super champ xd sound

i don't mind my buttocks being handed to me on a platter by heavy hitter like you :D

I took 5 or 6 passes at it. I told myself to try and play slow and melodic. After a couple of passes I said screw it and turned on the afterburners!!    That was fun Mark

Very cool dudes! Similar to the James Lugo jam in that I think it's a lot of fun to see our different approaches to the exact same thing. Especially when playing off the vibe Mark set up - fun stuff

yeah mark certainly ups the ante!
honestly im amazed i still have any vinegar left in my decrepid 80s squirt gun because i never practice shredding anymore--maybe a couple of times a year ill try an yngwie solo and then think "jerk you will never have decent vibrato" and turn off my amp, turn on tv and watch soccer and eat a sandwich instead.

Wait... what were we talking about? LOL

I'm thinking when the house sells, I'm getting a Mac, and a Protools setup (Screw living room furniture), or a Ferrari... I dunno, maybe both? :D

nah brah you aren't starting a recording studio, just get something like this:
http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/F ... Ultra.html

chances are you can record using your current computer.

i use a lexicon lambda (2 mic in-usb out) my brother in law gave me because he didn't want to learn how to use it?

my friend had a home studio with the control 24 as the centerpiece, very similar to the pic you posted, i mixed the guthrie dvd and suhr concert stuff there, but he just kept sinking more money into the studio trying to work outside the box and up his game without just cause; $10k brauner mic, matched royer ribbons and consecutive neumann u67s, akg 451s and 414s, aardvark master sync clock, patchbays, construction on the house, monster conditioned power, ssl, api, neve, ua, trident modules, neve summing bus, waves platinum and all the ua bundles--

killer sounds but no clients or business strategy and economy tanking. went from occasional rock/pop demos for clients to crickets with the occasional rapper wanting a demo done on spec. :scared:

feel bad because he came to me first wanting advice on a mackie 24 channel mixer for a self produced cd and i pointed him to protools and my GC pro buddy.
sold everything at a major loss after 3 years. yikes.

So, I should get the Ferrari? I knew it... It has been calling me for a long time. lol Tim's Ferrari 458 Spider should be here in June/July, that will probably push me over the edge.

Okay, cool! Thanks brah

happy update,
after some calls i found out my buddy didn't shut down operations permanently, he relocated, built a new studio from the ground up, and opened last year setting up shop in a commercial complex, and is now really doing well producing up and comers...

cool!

now where's all the RT shredders???

I hope to do this tonight...life always seems to get in the way!!!

Sorta late to the party. I was last week on a business trip. This a lot of fun. Thanks Mark for doing this
