A lot already mentioned, so I'll just add...

Dave Meneketti. Just saw Y&T on Friday at a free "Music In The Park" concert in San Jose. Wish he'd dump the Rectos for his old Marshalls, but he's still killing it!

One of my all time faves and the reason I own a cherry burst LP.

Hello People! This thread is a perfect example of the lack of love Glen Timpton gets for his solo work! Very tastesful and worked brilliantly within the framework of the song. We all loved Priest back in the day but he never gets the credit he deserves. He is not the only one but he's been unmentioned for far too long. My rant is done  Thank You.

What about Eddie Van Halen, Warren DiMartini, George Lynch, Nuno, Guthrie Govan? They never get enough talk around here. :D

Matthias Jabs for me. I love his solo work and you rarely if ever hear his name. He gets buried under the Roth/Schenker cloud.

He is the reason I used to play nothing but Explorers (not Hetfield !)

Markie from Zeke here in Seattle. Ripping Rhythms and blinding leads and can play Skynyrd as well as any of the 1000bpm masterpieces Zeke does. Plus he sings while doing it.
Fuck yes! Zeke is one of my all time favorite bands. Everytime I listen to them I wanna chug a bottle whiskey and hit someone in the face (in a good way).

I'd also nominate Marc Ford. His solo stuff is great, and he,s got killer fuzz tones.

Right on. He has some really tasty but unusual phrasing. Trying to learn his solos is tough. He does these great runs that sound like they're almost falling over themselves but hold together. I gave up trying to figure it out note for note. The solo's by him and K.K in Beyond The Realms Of Death are perfection. Plus his descending runs in the breaks of Victim Of Changes I still can't quite get.

Also +1 to Matthias Jabs, totally overlooked due to Uli but a fantastic guitar player

Christopher Cross

Holy sh**! I am glad you posted this. My wife thinks I must be "batting for the other team" because I have always liked Christopher Cross :emofag: :grim: . I had to show her the computer to prove that someone else digs this guys stuff (assuming you do like his music). I don't know about underated but definitely unexpected. You certainly don't expect this guy to shred like he does. The guy stands up on stage looking like a used car salesman singing about sailing and what not, when all of a sudden he starts ripping arpeggios.

 I think he's a badass. Not to mention this song is one of my staples when the kids get me to sing karaoke with them
