My wife loves Europe. Drives me crazy with the Final Countdown keyboard riff on her ringtone and everything else she can annoy me with it. I would have to agree with Ty Tabor. Great guitar player.

The MOST UNDERRATED GUITARIST on the planet is me!!

John Norum just flat out sounded great on Don Dokken's "Up Form the Ashes" CD. Too bad the singing was stale and had no energy.

Great rocking tune, solo hits at 3:37 and it smokes!!

Great tone, solo starts at 2:45

Can't forget Aldo Nova, solo hits at 3:15

Chris DeGarmo for sure.

John Christ from Danzig..

East Bay Ray from the Dead Kennedys...
Yeah John Christ is a riffmiester  My bassist and I were having conversation about him the other day.

Ray is a douchebag although a great player.

One that comes to mind for me is Mikael Åkerfeldt. Highly underrated guitarist with a pretty unique style.

Audley Freed is on a much higher level than most realize.

I wouldn't say Warren is underrated, every body I ever talked to about him knows he is sick.

Ace Frehley ..... not a great guitar player, but almost everyone on RT has been influenced by him.

Lee Altus! when people talk about Exodus only Gary Holt is mentioned (who is fucking amazing as well).

Kiko Loureiro. His work with Angra and as solo artist is very good. He has some cool vids on youtube ...
I don't think he gets a lot of recognition outside Brazil.

+1

Gotta give props to Ace as a guy that played well but inspired a generation of guitar players to greatness. If Kiss Alive I did not exist....

"A good player can make great plays, but a great player makes a team great". Ace fits that criteria.

Just came in from a 6 hour band session.........

I would bet 1/2 of it was KISS tunes.........

Ace is a huge influence for me!
Since I was 6 years old back in the early 70's!!

Kiss Alive I was my first concert. Destroyer was 3rd. I was lucky enough to see some obscure little band open for Styx, ..... ZZ Top, back in the day when Billy laid down the serious blues rock...... How many teenagers got their first does of stink finger under the blacklight glow of a KISS poster in their room with the girl next door. Sweet memories.... They were not just a band.... It was a social statement that the man was not gonna keep me down !!!! :gethim: :gethim:

Didn't think about him right off the bat but it's true, Kiko is more of a virtuoso than 99% of "virtuso" guitarists

Vito Brata..............such a smooth player with his own style. The legato riffs in his playing makes his solos so easy to listen to.

I mentioned this guy's name the other day,
and the reply I got was.....Gary who? Never heard of him.
So I set the Fucker straight, sent him some youtube links
and he's off and running now.

Greg is also one of those, that never get the props he deserves.

A guy who has gotten really good in the last few years is Dweezil Zappa. Since he's done the ZPZ stuff, his playing has really progressed, matured, very good player now.

I agree big time!!
I also think Richie Sambora is another one!!

And the MOST underated has got to be Kirk Hammett
