I posted a NAD thread a while back about this limited edition Axe Palace Granophyre. I wasn't initially wowed by it. I'm the kind of guy that plugs straight into a new amp and if it doesn't impress me in the first 2 minutes, I move on. This amp sounded good at first, but it didn't rock my world. I gotta say that after giving it more time and really dialing it in with the right pieces in the rest of the signal chain... I'm in total love. It's one of, if not the best sounds I've ever had.

Mayones Duvell with Lundgren M6
Maxon OD808
Fortin Zuul in the loop
Mesa Traditional 4x12

I got a second Mesa cab because I have some custom Fane speakers I was gonna swap in. But after playing both cabs in parallel with the stock Mesa V30s, it's absolutely mind blowing! Running two cabs... not much louder. Double the drivers typically means double the volume, but with the same power from the amp getting divided between them, there's no real volume change. HOWEVER... the sheer aggression and low-end thump I'm getting from two cabs is fantastic. All the pieces have lined up right. The mid range has a phenomenal grind. Zero treble fizz. And the low end is immediate and punchy without being overbearing. And the amp has an addictive bounciness to the attack, while staying tight enough to track while down-tuned.

I'm really surprised by how different the amp sounds running two cabs vs one.

Now the dilemma... do I keep it as is and just rock two cabs or do I swap the speakers for these new Fanes and give that a go? I can always go back to the stock speakers, but I hate messing with a good thing. I've played another cab with these Fanes and compared to my first Mesa cab and these Fanes do sound incredible.

Anyway... I'm super happy with this amp. It's quiet. It's built fairly well. It's simple. And it sounds stupid good. It's like the best SLO, Rectifier, 5150, Cobra with all the best mods for those amps rolled into one. For modern metal, metal-core, etc... I've not found a better amp.

At first you didn't like the amp, then you were wowed and by your own admission, your best sound. Fuckin right problem solved there.
As far as swapping the v30s out for Fanes, when you said the cabs sound badass..nonsensical. Keep both cabs, keep the Omega amp, and begin designing my 50 w bassman.

Sweet rig but I bet your tone would benefit from a silver rug underneath those cabs. Not sure if the silvery flooring is going to give you the best. The other plus to the rug that is the casters won't scratch those beautiful floors if you happen to accidentally hang one of them up on a half eaten bit o honey when you're rolling it around.

I use a 4x12 and a 2x12, definitely bigger and more ‘dimensional’ or something. Much preferred over using a single cab.

If you still have your other cabs, I’d try putting the fanes in one of those. Or hang on to them until you get the itch to change something.

I'm actually trying to sell some of my other cabs at the moment. I like the Mesa cabs more than the Bogners for amps like the Grano, KSR, Rectifier, Evil Pumpkin, etc. But the Bogners sound great with all my Marshalls.

Sounds and looks like a great setup!
Very interesting amp & description, I didn't know those.
I also find playing an amp in a full stack / 2 cabs gives it a whole other dimension. Hard to go back to smaller rigs once you're used to it.

About your speaker dilemma, I also hate messing with a great sounding setup; I've "broken" a few magical pieces too many times in the past trying to "improve" things.
I'd get a 3rd Mesa cab to try the new speakers. You could always move the 3rd least preferred one in the end if you want to keep only 2, AND that would be the best way to do real quick A/B testing between the two different 2 cab setups.

Yeah I was like... I guess I need a third Mesa cab now haha. I need to move a bunch of other gear first. Got a few Bogner cabs and a couple amps I need to sell first.

If you think you're happy and can return the speakers with them being unused it may not be a bad idea, otherwise I'd say just swap them in if you can't return and see how you like it.

Mike prefers purple🤣

Killer ass right there! I’ve said it many times over the years that if I’m not playing an amp through two 4x12’s(side by side) I’m not really interested in playing. To me it’s a dramatic difference. And yeah, it’s not about volume.

I totally get this. I have made the mistake several times of pluggin into an amp and making a rush judgement because it was different or more bland than a previous amp only to find the secrets after playing with it and the controls a bit more

you did say it had “grind” which sort of answers my question, but when someone describes zero treble-fizz for a guitar sound I get confused. Maybe it’s just direct mic’d cabs, but I associate heavily distorted guitar tones as having a certain level of treble/fizz at least on extreme settings. It’s nice to be able to dial them out but some amps just don’t have enough high end available.
