Current production, I'll let you know what the revision is when it gets here. The new order price was close enough to what they seemed to be going for used that I just ordered a new one when I saw they had opened up orders.

Or maybe as a more cost effective alternative you can print out a life size picture of one and tape it to your favorite amp.

I posted a NAD thread a while back about this limited edition Axe Palace Granophyre. I wasn't initially wowed by it. I'm the kind of guy that plugs straight into a new amp and if it doesn't impress me in the first 2 minutes, I move on. This amp sounded good at first, but it didn't rock my world. I gotta say that after giving it more time and really dialing it in with the right pieces in the rest of the signal chain... I'm in total love. It's one of, if not the best sounds I've ever had.

I got a second Mesa cab because I have some custom Fane speakers I was gonna swap in. But after playing both cabs in parallel with the stock Mesa V30s, it's absolutely mind blowing! Running two cabs... not much louder. Double the drivers typically means double the volume, but with the same power from the amp getting divided between them, there's no real volume change. HOWEVER... the sheer aggression and low-end thump I'm getting from two cabs is fantastic. All the pieces have lined up right. The mid range has a phenomenal grind. Zero treble fizz. And the low end is immediate and punchy without being overbearing. And the amp has an addictive bounciness to the attack, while staying tight enough to track while down-tuned.

I'm really surprised by how different the amp sounds running two cabs vs one.

Now the dilemma... do I keep it as is and just rock two cabs or do I swap the speakers for these new Fanes and give that a go? I can always go back to the stock speakers, but I hate messing with a good thing. I've played another cab with these Fanes and compared to my first Mesa cab and these Fanes do sound incredible.

Anyway... I'm super happy with this amp. It's quiet. It's built fairly well. It's simple. And it sounds stupid good. It's like the best SLO, Rectifier, 5150, Cobra with all the best mods for those amps rolled into one. For modern metal, metal-core, etc... I've not found a better amp.

The 90s Reissue Dual Rectifier is my favorite version of the Rectifier. This includes Rev. F, multiple Rev. G, Triples, 3-channels, and so on. The Reissue Dual Rectifier has a chunky, low-mid growl, with a deep and resonant low end, and a pleasant mid-range bark. It's not fizzy or buzzy. I only ever play it on Red/Modern with a boost, though. I don't bother with the Orange channel.

That said... I sold it last week because the Granophyre is better for my tastes.

The Granophyre is tighter. It's angrier. It's got more clarity. It's got the same low-mid growl, but you can also dial in upper mid grind if you want it. It doesn't have the same deep low end as the Recto, but it's punchier and more modern sounding. The attack and feel of the amp is also fantastic. It's responsive, dynamic, and immediate. And yet, it never feels like you're fighting the amp. It's one channel and therefore more simple. I don't need tons of switching options and features.

I should say I also run a boost 100% of the time. Usually an OD808 (drive on zero, tone 1:00, level around 2:00-3:00). And I play modern high-gain stuff. Metal, hard rock, prog rock, metalcore, thrash, etc. i.e. Tool, Karnivool, Deftones, APC, Killswitch Engage, Tesseract, and so on.

Since starting this thread, I've actually acquired three different Granophyres. They are each slightly different. And those differences are greater than all the various versions of the Rectifier. One is the AP77 Grano, with different transformers and higher voltages specifically tailored to KT77s. This amp is the tightest and punchiest of the three, with the most clarity and the most upper-mid snarl. The white one is a more recent V1.5 PCB version with 6L6GC and lower voltages. It's the smoothest and most balanced of the three. Just an all-around pleasant amp to play. It's the most polished. The third one is an older hand-wired V1 that was later updated to V1.5. It's a little more rude sounding. Has more gain on tap and more bite. A little less polished than the other two. I probably won't keep all three, but haven't decided which one to part ways with yet.

dude what a sick setup! That custom blue one is so freaking cool. Reminds me of some OG Halo loading screen or Tron. Definitely caught my attention since you sold off your 90’s Ri and you go for pretty much the same styles as I do.

I might let one of the three go soon if you're ever interested. But haven't made up my mind yet.
