I was supposed to go to that show of theirs with the nightclub fire. My roommate at the time got a sticky icky package in the mail that day and I ended up nodding off before I could leave for the show.
Having a cellphone on you 24/7 wasn’t really a thing at the time and when I checked it at about noon the next day I had about 30 voicemails from my poor mother

Not just from us in Australia - the whole world has a memory mate. It will be stored up whenever we collectively have anything to do with you be it in trade or otherwise. Most of all it will affect our attitudes towards the US and not in a postive way. You can laugh that off but no one is an island in this world. It'll bite you one way or another.
