Bringing a $4k+ guitar out is a hard pill to swallow, bringing a Chibson or Chender out is easy.

Years ago I knew a guitar tech for a bigger touring band that played the big metal festivals and tours, these guys switched sweet looking LP's/Gibsons every other song like they were Bon Jovi or something, when i questioned if they had a deal with Gibson or something he laughed and told me they are all Chibson's, and that plenty of other bands did the same. Gibson got some great exposure lol

A buddy of mine tours with Aldo Nova. Aldo plays Chibsons live. He's got one of those rare Les Pauls with the Explorer headstock and doesn't want to break it, so he found a Chibson factory to make fakes. Meanwhile my buddy tours with several real custom shop Gibsons. Two completely opposite takes.

i can understand both sides, i think i lean a little more on the enjoy the money you spent and play the thing side, but at the same time if you can have a "clone" ill call it that plays well enough, i can understand wanting to play stress free and not constantly worried about it getting stolen or whatever. And on the band side of things, its definitely not a bad look playing a couple sweet "Gibsons", i wouldnt have known im sure like everyone else if i was not told they were fake.
