X pattern, or Greenies on top, 30s on bottom? Go!

I didn't`t have Greenbacks but Creamback M65s . I put them in an X pattern with the V30s and while I liked it I eventually took out the V30s and replaced them with Creamback H75s. I did try the M65/V30 pairing with the M65s on top also and I couldn't tell a big difference having them that way or in the X pattern

I have a Bogner 2x12 with vin 30 and creamback and it sounds great

Alright, thatll give me an excuse to tear into it to swap speakers around instead of doing chores lol

GB top, v30 bottom

I've got a pair of Celestion G12C speakers that were pulled from a Marshall Modern Vintage 4x12 cab. They're a really nice version of the Celestion G12M-25 speaker.

I find the V30's bury the Greenbacks in an X-pattern. As mentioned, V30's on the bottom is the way to go, IMO.

I’ve never cared for mixing speakers in cabinets outside of the Boogie 1/2 back cabs. However, greenbacks up top and V30’s down below has me curious.

I'm thinking too that the X-pattern tends to smear the sounds into one mass, rather than spread out.

i would do V30's on bottom, greenbacks on top. For me I do not like the X patter because when I move on stage in either direction I hear the tone shift to the top speaker and I find it distracting. I think top and bottom blends better.

I finally got to jam on it today and the sound is fine to me, but I've seen overwhelming response here and other places to make it top/bottom, so as soon as I can get another soldering iron I'll switch it out. They soldered the speaker wires in place. I'll give the top/bottom a shot and see what I think. Thanks for the opinions guys.

The v30s are 66% more efficient, so they are better in the bottom

Greenies top and V30s bottom are what Friedman does and it works great, for all the reasons stated here.
