I would have shot the whole show but some ASSHOLE security guy threatened to throw me out 4 times. I wasn't bothering anyone and had my phone low...REALLY UNREASONABLE...really disappointed. After the 4th time (during EVH's solo) I thought I was REALLY going to get tossed...while other people were filming all around me.

Heard Dave was a trainwreck last night & Wolfie had an off night

That was awesome! Great footage there. Band as a whole sounds great and Ed is kickin ass.
I like wolfie but dam, he has close to no stage presence at all.

I don't know man it always pisses me off seeing people trying to film entire concerts. Saw motley a couple of months back and couldn't believe the number of people standing there with the phones up filming. I mean how many times would you sit down and watch the footage you are actually taking?? probably near to zero?>.....just enjoy the damn concert and leave the DVD's to the pros (not so much aimed at you OP just a little rant about it in general)

Sounds like an asshole guard. Some of them are extremely unreasonable wannabe cops or something.
I saw them awhile back after the reunion and I was super happy to see Eddie and Alex on the kit. That was about it. I did hear they got better but I have zero desire to go to another show. Wolfie holds his own but I don't care what anyone says he can't hold a candle to MA. Dave kind of makes me feel ill. He was always flamboyant live but at least he looked cooler and sounded cooler doing it. He could scream and kick high. Now he makes me feel like something ain't right with him. I don't blame him a bit for touring and making dough.
I'm just glad I got see Eddie again. I'm glad he is doing well after all he has been through. He was why I picked up a guitar

When I went to see them on 8/1 the two annoying guys in front of me kept holding their phones way up high and blocking my view. I was considering knocking one out of the guys hand. Sooo annoying and ruining my experience. Don't do this people! Couple next to us disappeared halfway through so I slid down a couple seats.

that was good man... because it was loud in your speaker/mic. Cant wait to see them in September...another few weeks i guess.

It is cool he's able to jam with his kid, but I do miss the MA vocals. I admit Ed holds his own and does a fine job at it, but the two together was just ef'n awesome.

Dave is a little....(ok...) A LOT fucking creepy now man! But I am really going to see the Brothers jam.

Thanks for the post!

enjoy, suspect if you did this back in the 70's with a manager like Grant for Zep patrolling the audience, they would have beaten you up badly and took your recording for their own profits...I guess at some point you could likely suggest the reason the genre is going away is the "free" concept eating into the profit motive. Not sure if the VH camp endorses recording their shows?

Agreed. Lame. Just enjoy the live experience.

I'm a super fan and wanted to shoot the show...wasn't bothering anyone else's experience of it...plus it's 2015...

You're right it is LAME...on the security's part

I don't see any issue with holding the phone at your chest. You were in the front row so who cares. And as long as someone isn't ruining someone else s view they can take some video all they want. They paid their ticket. I agree the assholes holding the phone way up and not caring if it obstructs someone's view behind them deserves beer thrown on them

I agree. I used to take a quick vid of a tune I like or snap a few pics but the guys that film the whole show are annoying. I don't do it anymore because I found I never watched it! I saw megadeth in a small club, great view and this guy in front of me filmed the whole dam show with his camera in the air all night. But with that being said I do like being able to see it on youtube. I was at the NJ show and Dave accidently bumped Ed with the mic stand during his solo and it was cool to back and see that again on youtube.

Wow, he's using a lot of gain these days.
I know.....I got the stealth head and from using it for a while it seems like the red channel it overkill. You can get more then enough gain from the Blue.
Looking at his set up seems he likes the Red Channel.

It was 100% the opposite of your post.

The band was incredibly on point & having a fantastic time and it showed.

Wolfgang is extremely talented. It's like people aren't willing to accept that he's as solid as they come.
