Vented G12T-75s??

What's the going price on the vented G12T-75s? Seller has them in a really bad condition marshall 2x12. I'd throw the cabinet out. Just buying for the speakers. Seller is out of his mind listing it above $500.

Just a guess, but I wouldn't pay more than about $150-$175 for a vented T75, maybe $200 max. Brand new versions are $160 and older non-vented, skunk strip, and black/white labels are plentiful around $75-$100. Just a guess, though.

I have a '83 JCM800 4x12 cab with G12-65s. I hope I'm not being redundant with these vented G12T-75s. My plan would be to put the 75s in a Bogner 2x12.

I'm also looking at another pair of 75s that are from 1994 taken out of a JCM900 cab.

Definitely wouldn’t be a redundant move.
I compared my vented 75 loaded JCM800 cab directly with my friend’s 65 loaded Marshall, and the difference was exactly as Racer said. The 75’s have slightly lower mids, and extended lows and highs. A bit more scooped in comparison but nowhere near as scooped as the later version 75’s.
Together the 75 and 65 cabs absolutely killed.

Thanks. I'm hoping the seller doesn't know what he has. I really don't want to pay more than $300 for a road kill 2x12 cab with those speakers

I have 1 12 from i think around 1988.
How can i tell if its vented.
I'll have to open the cab later maybe post a pic.

Yeah, you'll have to open it up. Just look for the vent in the middle of the back of the magnet, if there's a screen over a hole, it's vented.
