Im not a big fan of the song either but I certainly appreciate it. Its MUSIC for cryin out loud!! Its freakin VAN HALEN!. I mean Really!??!? These dudes are freakin rock icons...legends!!...Pushin' 60yrs old to boot! Eddie has played the same tired licks his whole life because thats how HE plays. He invented those tired licks and theyre HIS. He's not a berkley or a git student that studied music his whole life. He's a rocker who has always played pretty much off the cuff and very spontaneously. Hell, Andy Wood or Pete Thorn could take Eddie to the woodshed. Its all just about writing music...its not a competiton.

it sounds like a song on diver down with todays recording technolgy and eddies new sound.....i mean how can u not like it....think how goofy hot for teacher is lyrically....they have always had some generic sounding songs on each album....listen to cabo wabo or you reallly got me.....the album will be killer

VH aside for a moment, I have never understood this argument. Why would someone making millions of dollars a year call it quits because some fans believe they should? Particularly when those fans won't make that money in their entire lives, get on a guitar forum everyday and gush about the latest and greatest gear, will never make music that more than 100 people will ever hear and perhaps 1 person will ever remember....yet they go into thier basement everyday, or a couple times a week, or whatever, and keep playing.

Why in the world should someone making millions of dollars a year do something that you aren't willing to do yourself for many orders of magnitude less?

I understand...times/ears change...and everyone wanting to hear VH1 or similar come out from them. They can be toned down if they want...it's their lives/career. But as far as the "They are pushing 60 motto," all I will respond to that is Glenn Hughes baby! The man blows me away and he is 60! Guy rocks his ass off! I love Black Country Communion.

I can't figure out why people are trying to justify this song by downplaying the amazing tracks on 1984 , Diver Down etc.

this tune doesn't have any of the , energy , fire , or originality from that early stuff.. Even mellow tunes like "I'll Wait" and "Secrets" were top of the line pop rock with a original sound, miles from this plodding , lifeless track...

this tune in the same league as Full bug, hang Em high, Panama, Hot For teacher?.....no way!
 
Haven't you figured out why they released Tattoo first?

It's for the upcoming English language release in the US of the movie, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".
