From what I can tell only the much cheaper entry model VHT's are made in China.

From the new VHT website:

"This site looks like VHT, but all of the amps are different. Why is that?"

"We have acquired the name and are excited to expand the product line with all new models, including The Standard Series, which is handwired at our workshop here in Brisbane, CA. VHT Amplification, Inc. (that's the old company) has changed its name to Steven Fryette Design Inc. Information about Steven Fryette Design and service or warranty support of VHT amplifier products manufactured prior to December 31, 2009 may be found here."
yeah, that's the AXL company then, the one that bought the VHT name. Does sound pretty good, but should probably clarify that those amps have nothing to do with Steve Fryette or the old VHT designs.

I absolutely love my CLX, though I'm probably selling it soon and going back to an Axe-Fx Ultra + power amp as it's just more flexible on a weight/space to what it can do ratio. The power amp may well be a VHT / Fryette though :D

I owned a VHT 50CL/with eq for a while several years ago. It was a good amp but not really my thing. I just prefer Mesa tone better.

Got a Deliverance 120 a few days ago.

It could use a little more gain on tap and an FX loop but I am loving its signature ROAR.

Its open sounding and BIG. The amp is ridiculously loud but I'm cool with that. It has nice touch sensitivity, a versatile channel design, and rolls off well on the volume knob. I think ill be keeping her and using as the dry side of my W/D with my Einstein.

I've had 2 vht's a cl 100 with eq and a clx with eq and loved them both dum dum me sold both and now I miss them both very much especialy the clx that thing was monster. A few years ago I got to play a ultra lead and it was a beast. I have nothing bad to say about them. I don't know why they are not talked about as much as other amps out there.

I've been thinking about this, and I really think that it has to with 2 primary factors:

1) They're not recognizable. Even people who don't play guitar recognize the Marshall logo, and most people who do play think that Marshall is the be-all, end-all of amplification.

2) They don't sound good at low volumes. I love my UL to death, but I never keep it at my house because it just doesn't work in that environment. It's (almost) the worst amp I've ever played at apartment-friendly volumes. The only amp I've used that's worse at low volumes is my Rivera KR-7. Rivera, coincidentally, is another company that gets about zero hype on message boards.

I think that a lot of people buy these amps, play them in their bedrooms, and are convinced that they suck.
I know a guy who told me that when he owned a UL, it was "The worst amp I've ever heard".
Funny, nearly every person who's played mine has said the exact opposite.

Straight up

I also think that alot of the time guys just don't want to set down and take time to dial them in. I love doing that

Having owned almost all the VHT line
I would say the CLX was my favorite with the D 120 second , but I also will add that it is crucial that you play these amps with VHT cabs , as other cabs made a real big difference and in a bad way , so not only will i need the CLX but I will have to get a Deliverance 4x12 cab....

It's already starting to add up isn't it  :D

I love the clx through my diezel cabs it was awesome sounding.

Front loaded ... Yes ?

what speakers are you using ?

Frontloaded yes with v30's

Hmm. Never tried it with V30's and a front loaded 4x12 . I had a Ubercab that I tried it and with a Splawn 4x12 with Green backs and hated it though . Maybe the front loaded V 30's would work better ?

I'm thinking about pairing a scumback with the deliverance. I guess Ill front load it.

I talked to steve at vht when it was still vht and he said that the phat bottom cabs worked best with the clx,but I never got to try one out. Plus I was really happy how it worked with the diezel cabs, plus the vht cabs are frontloaded to.

Well the funny thing is that at one time not that long ago VHT and Diezel cabs were made by the same company right there in Cali . I forgot the name , but I was told this and if I remember also Bogner cabs .

Diezel now makes their own , but before that they were made at the same place , so I bet their were very close tonal similarities between the 2

VHT was more elusive, no one REALLY knew what it stood for.

Valve Harmonics Technology

It's printed on the back of my 2150.
