Is there any power amp better than a Fryette PS-2/PS100 for a modeller?

Maybe I am reading something incorrectly, but does the PS-100 only have one speaker out? I run two 4X12's with a PS-2. Thought about moving to the PS-100 but want to run two cabs.

Looks like you can but have to daisy chain them. There is only one output jack. From the manual:

SPEAKER OUT – Connect this output jack to any speaker cabinet or combination of cabinets that
total 2/4, 8 or 16 ohms impedance. For example, when using a 16 ohm cabinet (typically a 4x12

IF you can find one, any vintage HH power amp will reproduce the tone of your pre/modeler without coloring the sound much if at all. This is why many pros back in the 80s/90s used them to slave out of their main amp to multiple cabs live. I have an M900, which is essentially the same amp as the V800 but with 2 less output jacks. The first time I used it to slave out my Wizard MC100, I was amazed at how identical the tone was out of my slaved cabs vs the main cab that the amp used. No difference in tone at all.
They are getting harder to find though. Unfortunately.

Just grab a Palmer Cab M. 27 bucks I use it with my PS100 and can use cabs in stereo or parallel when I need to

I think the best thing about the PS-100 is the loadbox. It's great for metal tones. But there does appear to be some kind of issue that makes the whole setup hum at a certain frequency. The ground lift doesn't help unfortunately. Only solution is a noise gate of some type for recordings.

Adding to the weirdness, this only happens with some amps. I'm not sure what the root cause is.

As far as the PS-100, I wish it had two inputs that would allow you to send a left-right signal and then pass that on to two cabs arranged in the same way. With a Mimiq in the loop, I bet it would sound stupendous.

Get a variac with a digital output meter on the voltage and you'll always have it right.
That's what I do, all my amps are ran at 117v no matter wherever I go or what I'm doing that's how it is

Now get some cash together and snag this thing it's gonna go quick once I put it up.

* And hey, if a variac is not your thing I have a couple of voltage regulators if you want to get one you know, Furman rack deals that supposedly do the same thing

I have a step down transformer that I use to run my my 110v amps, do that's not a problem. Cash is the biggest hurdle these days, don't want to use my savings for something that I don't need at the moment.

This playing it safe thing is for pussies, what you got to do is you got to be on the edge of disaster and destitution at all times that's what keeps it interesting. Otherwise, what are we doing here?

Maxxing a card out. Use that cash for investments whatever, have that money making money for you.
When the credit card company is desperate thinking you're not going to pay it all they cut you to deal, reducing the amount to a fraction of the debt.
My girl busted one of her cards like over 15 grand and they sent an offer just the other day. Check this out, from over 15 grand they said they'll clear the debt out for $700 bucks, they even offered a payment plan on that. Ha.
She never got a threatening notice about attorneys whatever, no certified letters no threats nothing. I keep telling these greedy fucks that she's dead but yet they keep sending her bills fucking idiots

I’m not sure if we’re talking about the same squeal or humming noise but I got one of these to use with my PS-100 and it eliminated the noise for me. Some amps have no issues but others created a ground loop type noise that I could not remove without this device.

Your credit rating will take a hammering if you do that. Lots of people max out cards expecting no action to be taken. They then find that the interest rates for a loan for a house or car is beyond them.

Another possibility is that the repo man pays you a visit.

I have zero debt and plan to keep things that way. I can always look for new gear when I get a job, right now I need a buffer to take care of family medical or other emergencies.

I had a 5050 too. Both great amps.
But you gotta let things go for money sometimes..

Like we were talking about before, I don't know if those are even available.

I have found you need big iron for that big punch and low end reproduction... just sayin.

My Matrix has lots of volume but misses the punch that my big transformer power amps provide. my Peavey CS800 and Crown XLS802. The depth mods/presence on the VHT/Fryette and the resonance/depth mods on the Peaveys are really nice to have.

Out of the modern selections the Avantone Mosfet Amps seem to have all the great specs and the bigger power amps have big iron.
