hello, dave i have a question... i put together a small rack system using old school analog rack effects (alesis quadverb, lexicon mxp100,digitech ips33,roland sde-1000)reverb,digitech and roland are going into a rane sm-26b mixer that goes to the effects loop of a "5150" head... the problem is when i engauge the digitech the volume drop alot is there anything i could do to bring the volume back up to match the volume of the other effects? i can't afford the newest stuff out there(midi,rg-16,axess)i use a make shift pedal board with switchs to turn off and on my effects...but for right now it sounds pretty good as far as sound ...just that volume loss when i engauge the digitech is what i'm having a problem with ...i know your a very busy man ...but any help would be great...

hello, dave thanks for the reply... if you go to the rane swiss mixer book or (pdf ) on there site and go to guitars rack section it's wired up just like (figure 11) with all the (mono in) to 3 effects going too 5150 effects loop send and the (3) L&R outputs of the effects going to the rane mixer(1 thru 6) then it goes out too he 5150 loop return...like i said the reverb and delay can be controlled with the mixer channel levels... but digitech loses volume when engauged...

take out the rane mixer. you are trying to make a stereo set up out of a mono rig (effects loop). nothing is isolated either, so you got all sorts of grounding interference. you also have plenty of impedance mis-matching. stereo out of the digitech will take off 6db going to mono.

with all that other stuff, what effects are you using in the digitech?

thanks for reply ... i have old school gear (Alesis quadverb, lexicon Mxp 100,roland sde-1000,digitech-IPS 33) for amps i have 5150 and bv60 both amp have been modifed by (ben fargen) of fargen amps into (2) 4x12 cab and i have (1)2x12 cab also....the above gear was running into rane sm26b mixer and front line i have ISP noise,ce-3,evh flanger, evh phase,sniper-eq,cs-3,mt-2,ds-1,wah and buffer out to guitar... this is how i have been running setup... money is an issue , but i might have to bite the bullet on somethings to get this thing right...i see alot of other rigs with line mixer used alot ... just want the best possible sound ....with maybe a little investment with some extra gear to make this happen...
