We've been talking about wet/dry/wet setups here, this is my W/D rig. :) Just wired the stuff up tonight and shot a really quick/dirty video of it. The ceriatone wreck clone is VERY sensitive to changes in picking, volume knob and pickups... it's like driving an old muscle car and a totally different experience than a modern channel switcher like my bogners. No tab was used, I was just dicking around - couple of VH riffs and some wheedly wheedly stuff.

signal path:

PRS into Trainwreck clone into THD hotplate into Marshall V30 cab - line out from hotplate into TC Electronics Nova Repeater into VHT 2/90/2 into V30 cab. Mic used - camcorder mic on cheapo cam that uses flash cards instead of a HD.

All different tones were done at the guitar, didn't touch the settings on the amp. If I can do a volume boost for leads easily, this may be my live rig... well, with one 4x12 split... I can't carry 2 4x12s in my car.

The dirt into shimer was da shit right there, awesome tones Pete.

For the love of GOD get rid of that pot pup selector though  :D

Thanks man, not bad for an amp I paid $800 for, eh? :D Regarding the pop pup selector... they made maybe 100 of those guitars and I hate changing anything on it. I still have the bridge pickup (it has a JB now). Now I'm thinking about running a pair of cabs off the VHT (right now it's just one) and have the fx in stereo so it's true W/D/W. I'm very impressed with the nova repeater too - they are pretty cheap and it's hifi as hell! I never got into the analog delay stuff much, give me crystalline goodness.

Pete

Nice clip man. Sounded great! I'm really becoming a fan of the single channel amps and maybe a good pedal. No pedal needed there though...

That is my favorite clip you've posted so far. That thing has a lot more gain than I thought it would have. The clean sounded amazing!!

Cool clip, that wreck circuit is barrels of fun, one of my faves.

Damn that sounds good! I want a Trainwreck clone bad! I'd love to hear that rig with your EJ strat and an LP. :inlove:

Thanks man! here's the EJ... I just screwed around with a few different guitars and then edited out places where I was out of tune real bad :)

Have your band come to Tulsa, you can play the gig with mine!

Wow that sounds fucking magical!

Seriously, really, really nice. Such a dynamic amp. The cleans sound gorgeous and dare I say, EJ-ish. I guess using his signature guitar helps but man, awesome stuff. I'm guessing this is the Trainwreck Express with El34's? Didn't you mod yours from the stock Ceriatone layout?

This makes me want to sell my JCM800 2210 ASAP and get one of these. :D

And if I can get my band up there I will have to take you up on that offer!

Thanks guys, I know it was drenched in delay but I was digging it. ;) What amazes me about the amp is how many tones you can get from one guitar... the EJ has been modded with a Hot Rails in the bridge so I can do the humbucker thing, forgot to mention that. Other pickups are stock.

Shea - it's a Liverpool clone, so it's 4xEL84s in the power section and this one was built by Nik at Ceriatone - bone stock as far as I know. If you had them build you one, it should be pretty much the same. The construction is as good or better than 99% of the USA hand wired crew imho. I'm sure the transformers aren't anything boutique, but the amp sounds great in my opinion.

I'd like to get a nicer 'wreck looking headshell for it eventually though, the tolexed head just seems wrong.

Wow! great tones on them clips. I really love the cleans on the first clip. I am surprised the audio sounds that good from a camera. This probably one of best I have heard. Your playing is awesome aswell. Thanks for posting.

Thanks man, the camera was super cheap too - it records on flash cards, no HD in it, so the thing is smaller than a desktop mouse. It's pretty crazy how such a small mic can capture a room sound pretty well... I was contemplating setting up a couple of mics and my Korg D3200 - but this was good enough IMHO.

Sounds really good, love the way it cleans up!
I've been wanting a Trainwreck clone for a long time.
I was think about the EL34 Ceriatone Expression amp, but now you have me thinking about the Liverpool.

I am surprised at the amount of gain that has on tap - sounds really nice!!!
