After being able to sit down and watch most of the video I am a little confused. All those erotic effects were from a lexicon and not the dumble amp correct?

I you tubed a few other Dumble amps and they do sound like perfection.... but are they all going in the 40k range?

By the way, for those of you looking for the real explanation, here it is.

Does anyone know what "song" they play when Dumbo is "speaking"? My son pees himself when hears it and I want to make it his ring-tone.

Thanks.

Dave

It's called Chacarron by Latin American artist El Chombo.

To get an idea about who's bashing the amp based on the clips:

How many have actually played a Dumble?
Good point...
FWIW, I played about 4 different ODS and 2 different SSS.
BTW, I also still remember the days when Dumbles cost less than the competition. As in the time when an ODS was 1500...less than a RIvera TBR or THD BAssman clone.

I've played an ODS.....Was like a good sounding Fender twin with a really good TS808 in front of it...

I played an ODS at Ultrasound in NYC years ago. I think that I might have played it for maybe 20min. It didnt sound bad at all but Ive played other amps at a fraction of the cost that did the exact same thing.

Admittedly, 20min wasnt a load of time but I think that it was enough to form an opinion. Not my thing but that doesnt really matter...

That was my experience as well. I also experieced the same tones with a Two Rock and a Fuchs..

To me it sounded like a pretty good guitarist with a pretty good amp and and a pretty good buzz. Damn sure would not listen to that twice.
Who actually gigs with one of those days? Does EJ still own one? Who has SRV's SSS? Doesn't Jackson Brown have one (why?)
Can't knock the price; it's worth what one will pay.
Me personally; I would rather have 25 modded 2203's.

:hys: First time for me...

and Fortin & Ceriatone amps are better IMO...

and I forgot Metro also... but for that matter there are alot of other talented amp makers out there I think are far more worthy than this guy.

Tag does know tone

I'd like to try out a dumble. Never would pay that kind of cash to own one though.

Now that is some funny shit .....  and very true in the world of the Gear Page Forum ... God I am so thankful that I am never compelled to go there ... :D

I don't have a dog in this fight because it's not my style of amp, tone, playing or the like. I will say that it sounds great, but I am positive - 100% positive - that there are a host of other amps out there that can reproduce this level of 'tone' and so forth. Dumble is dumble due to the scarcity and neo-mystical qualities that surround it - and threads such as this that state the price and therefore the stratospheric unattainability of such. Klon all over.

I'm glad some people are so jazzed on this amp. Yay for you, now go on and find a few pics of Alex and his amps to toss off on while the wife's not watching... Carry on.
