Yep, there it is!

Yes it is. I just listened to the clip, holy smokes. I added a lot of bottom end, could have shaved a bit off and opened up the top a hair. It'll take me a minute to get used to her. I f'n love this amp. I am so happy.

Glad you're digging it James. I told you it was awesome. I had that for 6 or 7 years, and always thought it would be mine, but life got in the way. Enjoy it man. It's a beast!!

Damn thats a big sounding amp. Love it. Congrats James.

Played it some more tonight. Man that thing is so me. I'm really excited.

James..I can't believe you lived in LA all that time and haven't played Mark's entire line up?

Did I say I haven't played them all? I actually have. Look at my 2010 amp fest I had 3 ccvs, and a couple of mods. I played all of Superunknown's. and had a bunch of prototypes that mark brought by the studio. I think you misread. I have probably played and/or recorded 10 of his amps. I've also played the brad ccv and atomica.

Let's here a better "in room" clip. That download did nothing for me. Sounds like any other high-gainer. The video clip gives a better indication of how it "really" sounds even if it was clipping the mic. Just my opinion...

I hear ya but for my career and what matters to me the recorded guitar is where the rubber meets the road. I've heard amps that sound good in person but record like shit. But I will try and do a better in the room recording when I get a chance.

P.s. IMO I can hear more about what an amp is about with a serious close mic. For me I can hear the difference between high gain amps. And I can tell you from recording that amp today in my room that I know that amp does not sound like anything I own.

Wow, I was just about to post the exact opposite that you observed. I loved the recorded clip. Although I often do really like in the room clips captured with a good camera or even an I phone this clip did nothing for me. Downloaded clip kills!
Thanks for posting this, still never had a Cameron :D

That thing sounds killer James! Absolutely love it.

DIBS!!! ;)

Yeah it's blowing me away. Listened to the clip with the other guitarist in my band. The tonal spectrum from the suspended bar chord in Unchained to the drop C# was blowing my mind. I've never heard that much dimension and balance before with anything I've recorded. My guitarist played it with his guitar that has a JB in the bridge and it sounded way more 80s then me playing it through my Paul with a WB Fire. But honestly I didn't like it with the JB as much. The band practiced tonight and wrote a little one minute jam to use on the amp fest. It was inspired by playing the Ocean today. Super heavy groovy. A cross between something like 'Broken' meets 'Pressure And Time' by Rival Sons. Big fat ass muthafukkin groove. I figure that's something I'm good at and can contribute. With Andy Wood and Bouillet I'm not even gonna try and shred. Lol. No sense in makin my life hard.

That was the amp we had over my house for that one amp fest? Yeah, that thing sounds killer. Mark may have been a lousy business man but some of his modded Marshalls just ruled.

....dibs on the Bogner!! :D

I can't wait to hear the comparison. The low end seems much more massive and clear in the camera mic, but records much differently. The amp seems to track very well, is it tough to play at all being as though it also has less gain?

Here's a message from 2005 where Doug describes the new amp that Mark built for him. I'll post the direct link as well. Hey James my brother has a Cameron Ocean built into a Sovtek Mig 100. It's a pretty rippin amp especially when the volume goes up that way the bass just smacks you in the chest. Doug says it is different than his other Cameron amps, saying it a bit more open and plexi like. It has a five way gain boost on the back I imagine it's diodes not sure but it's real subtle when you switch it around, definitely not as gainy as the Aldrich mod but similar tone just less gain IMO. Here's the comments...

I just got a new amp from Mark. Well it was a tired old Marshall that I used to use to hold the door open. Need tubes and some tlc I guess.
But Finally gave it to Mark to experiment with and he brought this amp all moded and bad ass!!!

I asked him to try some new things...Kinda like my other amps but with a bit more open sound like the plexi he did last year. Somthing new.
What I got back I am calling the "Ocean Amp" Cause when you hit a chord it sounds like a HUGE WAVE crashin on the beach!

Like Malcom Young and Gary Moores love child!!!!
This is the best amp I got I think.

See ya DA

No it actually kind of plays into my right hand attack. It's better. All the excess gain just gets washy when I play and doubles poorly.
