Yeah it's blowing me away. Listened to the clip with the other guitarist in my band. The tonal spectrum from the suspended bar chord in Unchained to the drop C# was blowing my mind. I've never heard that much dimension and balance before with anything I've recorded. My guitarist played it with his guitar that has a JB in the bridge and it sounded way more 80s then me playing it through my Paul with a WB Fire. But honestly I didn't like it with the JB as much. The band practiced tonight and wrote a little one minute jam to use on the amp fest. It was inspired by playing the Ocean today. Super heavy groovy. A cross between something like 'Broken' meets 'Pressure And Time' by Rival Sons. Big fat ass muthafukkin groove. I figure that's something I'm good at and can contribute. With Andy Wood and Bouillet I'm not even gonna try and shred. Lol. No sense in makin my life hard.

Then I realized I was playing my Uberschall when the amp came in and I tried to make it have that extended lowend like the uber. Not really a Marshall's thing. Then I looked at the settings and I had the Deep knob on the back dimed as well as the Bass knob on the front and the treble and presence backed off. Anyway I messed with it and backed off the Deep and Bass to about 6 or 7 and opened up the top end and it was way more open. Sounded incredible. I am blown away by this amp. Anyway, had a client do some scratch tracks and play it and he was trippin. I will make some better clips, maybe tomorrow if I get time. My client and I played the Ocean and HBE back to back over and over. Completely different. The HBE sounds more natural and somewhat disorganized sounding, not in a bad way but in an organic way. The Ocean is way more polished sounding. More forceful, connected and articulate. Both are great. The HBE feels more like AIC, swagger. The Ocean more.... I don't know how to put it in words. Kind of the feeling I get when I listen to the rhythm tracks in No More Tears.

Awesome, just make sure your tech knows not to dick around with the spec. I had that happen yrs back where a tech "did me a favor" and changed shit around and amp never sounded the same. Glad you are posting.James Lugo":83tavowv said:Well it's been a week or so and I am blown away by this amp. It is absolutely incredible. I am getting some of the best tones ever. Blend with my RV 50. Wow! Has a set of JJs in it, just got a quad of =C='s from Laura. It went to my amp tech for biasing. Will be back tomorrow. I can't imagine it sounding better but my assistant said it should be more open and vibrant with the SEDs.
