You should look at the Traynor YCV50 for a combo. Not expensive really and they rock. I'd change the V30 out of course......

Is that the "blue" one? I've heard quite a few people say those sound good.

I had a ycv50 combo for about two years. They sound great very marshall maybe a slight bit darker. I just had a hard time gettin used to the "combo" sound so I ran it through a mesa 2x12 cab I had at the time. Eventually I found a very good deal on a DSL50 head and jumped on it. I ended up tradin the traynor for a marshall 4x12 cab. But if you are lookin for a small combo (1x12) the ycv50 is a good deal. I bought mine from a dealer on ebay about 2.5 years ago for way cheaper than MF (think I paid like 500-550 cant remember exactly. I think MF sells them now for like 800. Good Luck, but you cant go wrong with the DSL. I dont post much but I read the forum almost every day and I always liked your old DSL clips!

Yep...for a combo its pretty good. no where near as heavy as a twin either!

That Van Sykes guy had a great Traynor YCV50 clip a while back. I ran out and bought one after I heard his clip.

Change the speakers and tubes and its a dynamite combo.

I think you should get a Rectoverb, though. You made some clips a while back and those were the best sounds I have ever heard from a Single Rec.

Well, it is an open back combo. So, that is a limitation right there. But, it is an oversize (and heavy) combo. It definitely sounds beefier than any other open backed 1x12 I have played.

My only gripe with the ROV (like most Rectos) is the loop. I am not a fan of Mesa's parallel loops.

I have been on the lookout for a cheap ROV combo and it seems like the prices have been creeping up for those. However, the prices for the Tremoverb 2x12 have been steady or going down. ROVs have mostly been in the $850 - $950 range and TOVs have been in the $1000 - $1100 range. If money (and weight) are not a factor, you may want to consider a TOV. That amp definitely sounds beefy!

Just turn it up and quit thinking about it so much. My ears come and go with the weather, sometimes my rig sounds so good I can't believe it and others it's in the crapper. Some of it has to do with monitors,drum volume and house speaker interplay. Tonight is the test no doubt. I practiced with my band Wed night with no drummer and my amp sounded poor to my ears, no people in the room etc. The real test is the real circumstances you play in with a crowd of people etc.

I hear that. I want to have GAS for a new amp but I'm in love with my 59 so I quess I'll just have to be an monogampist. I'm the same way with my wife of 33 years. I keep looking at the Fargen amps and think one of them would do the job but its covered so I just buy pedals and new guitars instead.

Ha ha ha ha!!! I know, I'm being very weird. I just sold my D60 head and a D412 cab today. I'm about to sell my Sig:X and the other D412 next week. Then the only amps I'll own are this Twin Reissue and my Crate PowerBlock for backup. Can you believe that? I'm keeping my Antone 2x12" and '77 Marshall 4x12" cabs for future use, but if this combo works out, this will be my gigging rig for a little while.

I know, it's silly. None of this makes sense. But...

Hey, it makes sense to me. You can't go wrong with a Twin for cleans, and if you can get the other tones you need with pedals that's great! I've always loved Fender cleans, and VHT never really did it for me. I hope this works out for ya!
