I don't really see anything political in here :dunno: but it does suck that Uncontrolled Voltage can't seem to control himself.

Nah. Used to. They were spun off as a separate subsidy in 1983 as part of the government divestiture. Then, in 1995 they were spun off as Lucent - Which became Alcatel-Lucent / Avaya. I think they reestablished the Western Electric name somewhere along here and became a separately owned company again (2016?) with no ties to its former parent companies, including AT&T (which was actually purchased by SBC and renamed AT&T). All of the legacy telcom stuff Western Electric did is now in the hands of Nokia/NEC. I think. If I'm following the bouncing ball correctly.

It would be cool if they could pull it off. If everyone remember's Groove Tubes tried to resurrect the GE6CA7 and GE6L6 built in America and the GE6CA7 was a failure but the think the GE6L6 was pretty decent but mostly there were too many issues for them to pursue it further to work out the bugs. I bought some of those ill fated GE6CA7's and they failed pretty quickly.

I remember all of this. The 6L6’s were decent and people bought them up. Still, it didn’t last for long and was a huge investment. I’d love to see WE do something, but based on my knowledge, I highly doubt anything wilcom to fruition. This is one time I really hope I’m wrong…

it would have been announced at some point - they didnt just happen to sit on it until the youtubers jumped on matthew's bait and started the panic.
