What are y’all using for storage in your music rooms?

I have a music basement. Actually half basement, since the other half is a tavern + movie theater, but half is still plenty. I told my agent to find a killer finished basement with a house on top of it, and she did. 🤩

One is a former large bedroom I converted into a guitar/drum room with two Hercules Racks + lots o' single stands. Have a few stands on the main level, but Ms. Boss complains if I keep too many there.

The other is a mostly concrete storage room that is now an amp/recording console room, fully underground and no windows, and will eventually be covered with acoustic panels. Can play QUITE LOUD in this room, and I like to record fairly loud, but I still wish I had no neighbors within 1000 feet or more.

Only problem is that with a finished basement, all the JUNK you would normally keep in the basement has to go elsewhere. So I put most of it in the garage or attic, but still need to purge....

Next time I move, I hope to design my home, and it will have the same mission, taken to a higher level----a basement bunker/music/entertainment complex with a house on top, hidden somewhere deep in the mountains.

The two shelve units I want to get rid of are these.
Everyone seems to have WAY more cables than I do.

Oh, the ol' "why you spend so much time in that room" gag... followed by a "why do you keep leaving a guitar down/up here"...

My previous house had a huge unfinished basement, It was like a decent sized bar, had a section set up for a live band, a bar, a pool table, and my desk. I miss it and the next house I will have an actual detached studio, since we both want to buy land and build instead of pick something off the market and I can do most of the build myself.

I don't really keep anything that isn't getting used regularly. I guess the exception would be my microphones that mainly get used on drums. I just have a bag that sits on a shelf with them. Not too much space, so can't be keeping shit around that isn't useful.

I really do wish I could do this.

My lil' humble room. Shelving units and hooks and bins for cables. I recently added a rolling cart for my Boss Tube Expander so I can move it and easily connect the required cables.

Last thing I need to fix is my pedal collection. Right now they are mostly stored on a shelve but would like to build one or two pedalboard ready to rock.

I’ve found the my music room is getting more and more cluttered, I need to find a better storage solution than wire racks and cheap shelving units to organize and declutter my mess.

What are y’all using to store stuff like unused pedals, mics, other things that you want to keep accessible but out of the way when not in use?
I just sold the stuff. :D

We've got a 2,500 sq ft 4 bedroom house, and my studio room/man cave is 12x15 plus a walk-in closet, so I can't complain. The wife and I each have our own separate caves. LOL

I've been feeling "cluttered" with too much gear for a while, myself.
Current state of things...

Another shelf in my "guest bedroom", for the majority of cables, pedals, tubes, strings, tools n such. Bed covered with a quilt made from some of my concert tees.

I rotate any of those amps, cabs n guitars into the dining room, where I keep a separate pedalboard, when a few friends come over to make noise.

That “quilt” is badass!
