cool guitar! But does that graphic scream 1988 or what??
Actually, it screams 1986 (thats when it was built) ;)

Yes, it was called V.A.I. Visual Assault Instrument.
For real? I never heard that one that I recall.

I don't know how serious they were about it, but they have both mentioned it in the past. It apparently says it on the headstock. I am a bit of a Vai, and Anderson fan.

I wonder if you get a pair of white cowboy boots and a rhinestone shirt to go with that.

The only white guitars with gold hardware I like are SG Customs....

Shes all yours Bro, no thanks... Looks like he got bored and drunk and decided to build his version of a Jem77wh and then gave up halfway through...

Ditto. Not the world's biggest Ibby fan, but I think I'd rather have the Jem. Always did like the vine inlay and Monkey Grip (TM)... lol.

It would look better with chrome hardware. But i do like his mellow yellow classic's.

THIS is more like it.

Kinda OT, but anyone have an idea what an '88 Pro Am in bowling ball finish would be worth? The other guitarist in one of my bands never uses his but has it setup in an alt tuning and said I could use it so long as pay to have it set up in standard.

I absolutely love SG Customs (and Jr.s), but how can you not love this one?:

guitar looks like absolute shit with all the junk on it, the gold hardware is terrible - screams 1980's and aviators. and a hollow boy alder with a maple top? tha fuck kind of combination is that?!

I actually like it other than the pickguard and no Floyd...needs a floyd and w/b/w guard.

the monkey grip is the stupidest thing ever and prevents me from owning a Jem

I guess you didn't read the story about it as someone ordered it that way.

And speaking of friends, World Guitars in the United Kingdom is a world-class Anderson Guitar dealer. Just take a look at what our friends at World Guitars have done as they joined together with Anderson Guitarworks.

They asked if we would make them a truly unique Drop Top Classic—finished in Arctic White with Binding, appointed with Gold Hardware, highlighted with a White Pearl Pickguard and outfitted with two Coffee Dipped SC-series hum-canceling single coil pickups and a Gold HC3+ humbucker at the bridge.

You may be wondering:

Could we say, “No,” to such a request as this? No, we certainly could not say, “No,” so then…we had to say, “Yes.” Yes, it was a, “Yes,” we said to their request. We thought about it, and as it turned out, it really was best to say, “Yes.” So we said it…we said, “Yes,” and not, “No.” Make no mistake, this was a definitive “Yes,” that we said to their request for which they requested to us, expecting we would probably say, “Yes,” and not, “No,” otherwise they would not have asked with such expectation for a Yes to be said. So, after much thought a, “Yes,” and not a, “No,” was what we said in regards to this magnificent Drop Top Classic request. Let’s all say it together, shall we? Ready…”Yes!” And now…

Hold it! Thanks and that is now quite enough. Let us return to the Arctic White, Drop Top Classic story at hand, shall we?

Certainly:

Arctic White is a color we did just for World Guitars, as we had not done a guitar so white, white in a long time. What a great look. It had everyone at the Anderson Shop exclaiming.

Hollow chambers enliven this Drop Top Classic’s sonic signature and technically make this instrument a Hollow Drop Top Classic.

dude i couldnt give two flip shits whether it was ordered or not. IMO that still does not change the fact its one of the most fucked up wood/hardware combinations to ever be created. how many hollow body alder maple top guitars with gold hardware have you heard of?

So i guess it automatically sucks since you haven't heard of it? I owned a hollow basswood/maple drop top and it sounded great. My friend owns a hollow Mahoganey/maple drop top and it sounds great. I'd reserve judgement on it until i heard it. And it's a custom order, it's not like you're going to see another one like this anywhere. I can find guitars by any company uglier than this.

Whats the big deal? One of the largest Anderson dealers(World Guitars) asked Tom to build this spec. Probably for a customer. To me it looks like one hell of a well built instrument. I wouldn't want it for a metal band but I'm sure it has it's place. Someone specd it. Got nothing more to do with Tom than taking care of a great customer.
