What is 68 Plexi so Revered?

I think the 100-watters have a lot more headroom. Mine with the volume on 5 is about ready to kill small animals that might stray too close to the cab.
 
The best sounding transformer to my ears isn't he Dagnal l C1998 used from 67-70.

I remember once seeing a website that head people listing their serial numbers and pics on these early Marshall heads, does anybody know where that is?

I’ve got a bone stock 1973 50 watt NMV and it is just hands down the best sounding amp I’ve ever owned. Period. I am currently feeding it a BE OD DLX, a Pinnacle Deluxe, and a Suhr Eclipse and it just kills. Each pedal had its own unique ‘flavor’ but all the rich harmonic overtones are coming from the head. It is the ultimate Amp in a Box platform.
