I own a recto, you’re not telling me anything new, lol. What does any of that have to do with the badlander?
I was just wondering how is it even related to a Recto. I got sidetracked, LOL.
I was hoping someone would come up with something like a technical argument like "yeah, the poweramp has the same no negative feedback thing" or "yeah, the tone stack has the same values" or whatever.
But yeah, no one seems to agree. To some people (like me), it sounds nothing like a Recto. To some, it does. But we're all discussing perception, nothing objective. Because someone could very well say a 5150III with the presence and the resonance up kinda sorta loosely sounds like a boosted Recto. But it really isn't one.
And also, please don't misinterpret what I'm trying to say as "Rectos are the only amps that sound good" either. Badlanders sound great too. I was just wondering whatever made them decide to put in the Recto family rather than making it its own thing like the Triple Crown, Royal Atlantic, or whatever. And the only explanation I can come up with is marketing. But maybe someone more knowledgeable might correct me.
Not saying the Badlander isn't good. It's fantastic. It's just not really a Recto, is it? Or is it? That's what I want someone who has more technical knowledge to tell me.
