I saw Metallica live in 2010 and their live sound was a lot better than how it appeared on the recordings. I was surprised how the tones changed to replicate the tones from the albums, which was weird because on the live recordings it was just the same dull blunt mucky sound.
My favourite distortion sounds? I'll get back to you on that one...
How'd you figure all that out? And yeah thats the weird part, its a LIVE rig and it sounds better than most recorded bands I hear. Well to my ears anyway. Imagine how itd be sitting in front of his mesa cab with that mesa/diezel beast!
