Where is all the gear????

I have been trying to sell some things locally but not much is moving. My stuff is priced right, meaning lower than most, but still crickets. Last time I had any luck moving gear was when I posted on the SW gear exchange earlier this year.

I did just buy a guitar off of the classifieds here and now have good shipping boxes, so maybe I will offer the ship an LP. It's not moving around here.

I'll be 62 next year. It's gonna be my wife and daughter's problem to dispose of my collection. If I needed money I would probably contact Chicago Music Exchange and sell the whole collection at once.

I'm a year behind you...

But, I'd rather not leave that burden to my wife and kids if at all possible. There will be my main gear thar they will have to deal with, but I intend to minimize to as much as possible...

I think about minimizing but then it passes! 😂
They're also gonna have to dispose of my tools. I’ve been in the trades for over 40 years.

I'm feeling that too, especially as my parents age and I look at all of my dad's stuff he's collected over the years and dreading going through it. I'm not all that old and in good shape, on the one hand, but on the other really just need things I'm using (and functioning) or need to move it just to have it our of here.

I hate selling stuff…. Such a pain in the ass. It’s even difficult to sell stuff locally here too because my area doesn’t seem to have a ton of people ever spending big bucks on nice gear. It’s mostly the cheap shit. I might just start taking the hit and dragging more up to my local shop so I don’t have the headache of selling.

As many of you, I did collect a decent collection of gear over the years. I get that brain fart once in a while to start selling and each time, a simple look at the market makes me rethink to keep my gear.

Still some good deals can be done. In my neck of the wood, if you are patient and ready to pull the trigger, some pieces of gear go cheap but others are way overpriced and selling stuff takes time even at a fair price. The market seems saturated compared to around two years ago.
