I played an Epiphone SG yesterday after I set it up and repaired it for a friend, and it was a KILLER axe. The sustain, tone, and feel was spot on. With a pickup upgrade, that thing could have screamed. Let's see some pictures and testimonials from SG lovers

I have a Samick Artist SG with Manlius Fat Diane pickups and it rocks. I have it strung with 12s right now and it's terrific.

i have a 92 gigson sg standard that is really wierd....it has a really thin neck like my explorer....i really think this was a mistake cause ive compared it to shitloads of other standards and this neck is paperthin and flat....i put a bill lawrece l500 in in the bridge slot but it just recently quit workin

I wish I had nice things to say about my Epiphone SG, but since I don't, I'll keep em to myself.

Ya .. me too! The SG is a new discovery for me. I was a LP guy for the last 15 yrs and never liked the look of the SG, because I just thought of AC/DC everytime i saw one, but I found a beat up gothic with an invader in the bridge and the thing is so comfortable to play and sounds killer.

The thing rocks out harder than my R7

My brother has a really nice '61 sg reissue that sounds and plays great.

Nothin disparaging about EPI's, (I've got a Paul I can't seem to part with)
But the economy is shit, prices are low. Get a Gibbie standard. Amazing guitar. Got mine for $725, used pristine 98 from a, guitar center in Baaaaston. Shoppped to my door. huge neck, solo machine!

I've owned this one since '84 (it was 15 years old when I bought it used). It has had a few minor changes over the years.

I have a 68 historic vos reissue! Love it! :inlove:

I had an Angus SG at one time too. Got the best deal of my life on it :D

I love mine! I'll be upgrading some hardware this week, when it arrives.

I bought a used epi g400 in red for 100 bucks off craigslist and seriously love the thing. I actually dig the pickups too, which was surprising to me. Not that I'm not eyeballing replacements as time goes on, but they're more than useable.

Love the looks and tone, but I just can't play the damn things lol.
Purely a comfort thing. As a result, the ESP/LTD variant is my #1 axe.
