Which cable do you trust to run your rigs?

Your honestly getting better value, better cable, better quality from companies like BTPA and some others vs Mogami or whatever companies like RattleSnake make and sell.

YMMV but there are simply better cables, better quality cables and cables that offer more value than Mogami and others IMO and IME.

I have a bunch of old Monster Cables I bought when I worked at GC years ago. As far as I know, they all still work. They're mostly the cheaper ones with the plastic ends that you can slide the colored insert into so you can tell which cable goes where when you're building your rack. There's a few of the more expensive ones with metal ends, but I'm not sure how many, or even if I'm remembering correctly, as they're all in storage and closed up in my rack.

Since I'm going to be getting that Helix, Controller, and some Mission Engineering expression pedals, I'm gonna need some new cables. I have a Livewire Elite with the quiet sleeve thing on it that I've had for my guitar for years and dig it, and it still works like it did from day 1, so I'm tempted to buy a few Livewire Elite cables (without the quiet sleeve) to run the new cabling. I like that I can swap them at any GC if they ever die, just like the Monster Cables.

I'm looking at Mogami Gold, and a 10' cable is $68 compared to a 10' LiveWire Elite for $45. I don't care about 1 cable having better mids, or better low end response, etc, as my ears suck at picking up on that stuff, I'd never know. Is the Mogami cable really THAT much better, or the ends THAT much better that it costs $23 more? The LiveWire Elite has Neutrik connectors, oxygen free copper, internal stress relief, and a sealed boot with heavy duty jacket.

Is there a feature, or some magic in the Mogami Gold that makes it so ridiculously expensive? Or is it cork sniffery?
Essentially its just marketing and cork sniffery.......

Many other cables in the market outperform and offer better quality than Mogami cables that cost less as well.

Here for example Mogami ranks in the bottom 10 of 79 different cables. Essentially Mogami is just priced more than other brands for no real reason aside from marketing and they sell to people who kind of really dont know any better that buy into the marketing.

I use Digiflex for my long attachment cables but have gone wireless for the guitar. Digiflex have been excellent cables for me over the years.

For example these are Mogamis best of the best, the Platinum cables......

Yet they ranked on the bottom 10 of 79 different cables when it comes to noise floor, mechanical noise, capacitance and overall performance and other factors and considerations. They even perform to a lower degree than their Mogami Gold cable but that isnt saying much as the Mogami Gold cable didnt perform all that great either.

So I mean one can buy the marketing but thats all your buying and other cables offer much better quality and performance for the same or less money than Mogami.

My regular everyday Instrument/speaker- Mogami Gold/Platinum.

Effects- George L’s (Probably the most simple DIY kit out there & has completely eliminated some of my RF issues)

Snakes- Pro Audio LA.
They can custom fabricate & engrave anything you need. (They use all Mogami & Neutrik connectors. Jason who owns it is awesome.)

Honerable mention- Jumperz from Michigan. U.S.A made 🇺🇸 Murica 🤘🏽They can also custom fabricate anything you need. Customer service actually answers the phone, & is extremely informative/responsive. Call them directly & they will hook you up.

Patchbay- Ghielmetti (Maybach of patchbays/Nuclear power plant grade reliability.) 🤌🏽 If you know- you know.

Well I've got a bunch of Best Tronics cable in my cart and some Neutrik connectors to put everything together...but the fact they're charging a pretty decent chunk for shipping is keeping me from hitting the buy button lol I've gotten so used to free shipping on everything and it being factored into the price that it kinda hit me with sticker shock lol

However, when comparing the other low capacitance cables, it's hard to find any of them besides George Ls, and that stuff in bulk is considerably more so I guess I'll just have to eat the shipping to get some of the best cables there are lol However, I may do it tomorrow when it wears off.

Mogami platinum for loop/front end

ONLY dimarzio speaker cables. That’s all I trust for massive low end. I have videos that prove dimarzio speaker cables deliver the goods if your amp is capable of producing them.

Consider the mini cable for patches and also Sp400/500 plugs...... just great and solid cable and really low noise and great tone too IME.

Id probably consider Radio Shack Cables over Mogami given the results between even their best Platinum cable against cables costing 2, 3, 4 or 5 to 6 times less.......

Its just marketing and your better off with virtually almost any other cable brand/company.

Plus they may be Japanese but they are not even amongst the best in Japan either.....

Dimarzio only makes one type of speaker cable. I use one with chrome ends that’s an older version of this but check the gauge compared to the phono jack. These cables are bar none the best speaker cables available IMO. It’s all I used when I gigged regularly and it’s all I use now.

Thanks brother, I’m going to give this a go… If you feel like they are giving you extended lows you are speaking my language.. Ima try the Neutrik Speaker end for my subwoofer as well 👍🏽 Thanks for the recommendation!

Price considered I think it’s easy to judge Mogami, but they are tried, & true.. There is a reason they’ve made their way into every major studio. I do respect your position because data doesn’t lie either. 🤷🏻‍♂️However important factor is nobody should pay retail for their cables.. If so you are then you are being taken advantage of.. the profit margin in them is disgusting…
