Which Dual Recto for me?

Is the clean channel on the Roadster really that good?

The clean is pretty bland, bordering on bad on my 6505+. That would be a pleasant change.

Roadster has cleans on ch1 and ch2 and they sound great, i also liked them with the reverb.

I agree that the Roadster Cleans are indeed good but will say that they weren't for me. Having said that, I couldn't find a clean mode on the Roadster that I liked overall and that sounded right to my ears. I ended up parting with the Roadster because the cleans weren't for me and because it was much to powerful for my bedroom playing. Upon selling the Roadster I picked up a Mini Rectifier and couldn't be happier. The clean channel of the Mini has alot of character and sounds ALOT better than the numerous clean modes of the Roadster IMO. If you absolutely need a dual I'd probably either go with a Tremoverb or a Dual Multi Watt but as I said the Roadster Cleans while good didn't do it for me.

It seems like there are a lot more roadster 2x12 combos available than heads. This has me thinking...

Could I pull off picking up a combo and running it out to the 4x12 when I wanted to and get the same performance out of it that I would a basic head?

The disadvantage would be the weight if I needed the 4x12 out, but the advantage would be that I would have a good 2x12 combo for smaller needs.
