A 5150 biased properly and cranked to 6.5 will cut your head off. They get bright and clear up just fine while also dominating a mix. They are built to do one thing and one thing only - to be played stupid loud. You also have to choose your preamp tubes carefully as they’re very sensitive to preamp tubes.I don't really understand why people like the SLO-100 so much. It's got this grainy dryness to it and a very apparent lack of high midrange that I don't like. I'd get rid of that and the 5150. I don't care for most Peavey's including the 5150... it's that honky sounding midrange that I don't like, and the lack of clarity. If you had a Diezel VH4, i'd say get rid of that too, the high end is weird on those amps, like there's a lack of high end saturation and the lows are bouncy sounding.
