so was it Lars with the riff tapes ? Which one was like we still need these riffs ! After KILL that is . I get they needed them for album 1 . But damn 2 more . And ride is like half Dave almost lol

Maybe I’m not paying attention but I haven’t seen him complain in many years. Is there a recent article or something I missed?
It's usually around the time Dave has an album or book coming out... the old scabs get scratched off and they watch him go.. straight back into the sphere of conversation. I don't know if it's always coming from him or the press love to rage bait the fuck outta him, but it's a regular pattern. He just needs to let it go and not take the hook. You are Kenough Dave on your own achievements. Be happy.

Let's not forget the album missteps of Risk and Super Collider though. He ain't the straight up unfaltering metal God some folks like to romanticise about. Countdown, Cryptic and Youthanasia, while cool albums, were steps down the TBA/Load slow it down path that Metallica took. It was a big detour after Rust, just like post AJFA path. Took a few albums for Dave to get back to his natural lane of fast heavy riffery. imho

I can't defend Kirks playing post AJFA either. He gave up long ago for the easy ride on the gravy train.

Black album solos are still very good

CTE a step down!?! That's my favorite thrash album of all time.

What's your credibility worth? Hammet is kind of a joke. Mustaine is still writing great riffs meanwhile Metallica sounds like a bunch of grandpas in a Bob Seger sound-alike group.

That’s kind of subjective. Mustaine has and will always be mocked by his vocals, Megadeth not really being a band but just a solo project with hired musicians and his eternal crying about being kicked out of Metallica.

You know every time there’s a new Megadeth album around the corner, the only “exciting” part is the Mustaine tour in the media complaining about “no warnings, no second chance?”.
