Who feels they found some sweet gear in 2013

Merry Christmas everyone. So how was 2013 for you gear wise? For me i purchased two peices of gear that have really put a smile on my face. During a random stop in N'Stuff Music in Pittsburgh i played several guitars but one stood out immediately. It was a Suhr Modern Custom Carve Top. Played, sounded and felt perfect. Also looks great! The other piece of gear was a Bogner Ecstasy 101b. Bought it here from SLOgriff on the classifieds. It's been roughly two months and it's been making me play alot. The amp sounds so great on all three channels and playing has never been more fun. Great great amp.

So how about you guys? Buy anything you feel was a better than typical gear purchase?

After all the modded Marshalls that I've had through here, I found a JCM 800 KK sig on Craigslist for 700. This amp sounds better than every single one of them. Cameron, Friedman, etc etc..at least for me. Also picked up a Rivera TBR 1SL from Jason Bieler of Saigon Kick..great tone clean or dirty(Fender clean..cmon its a Rivera) and built like a tank. You can run any type of octal tube in it also, with a re-bias..a good year indeed.

2013 was a good gear year for me, i purchased some cool stuff.

some of my favorites from 2013.

2013 diezel vh4
gibson joe perry R9 aged by tom murphy- its been my favorite guitar for the last 8 or 9 months.
esp kh-4- i had one years ago and made a mistake selling it and finally i found another in decent condition.
kenneth lawrence explorer- trans black with the dragon inlay,this was one of my dream guitars for many years and i finally got it.
fender custom shop relic candy tangerine 62 ri strat with a humbucker in the bridge- best damn strat i ever owned.
 
Would love to play that Joe Perry Boneyard. Those look so cool
 
2013 was a great year for me. Particularly November, where I went nuts and purchased three new guitars. First, my Suhr Custom Modern with a basswood body/flame maple top/roasted maple neck came in, then I got a great deal on a EBMM Morse Y2D, then I got an amazing deal on a Gibson Les Paul Traditional during the Gibson Blowout. I've been playing all three quite a bit (the Y2D earlier today). Couldn't be happier with them!

I got it in January. It's more than a guitar for me. Getting that guitar helped me through the hardest time of my life and gave me something to look forward to when there was nothing else. I believe it saved my life, in all honesty.
 
2013 was huge for me gear wise.

I sold my last 5150 cabinet from my bar gigging days and purchased two custom splawn 4x12's with duratex coating. Absolutely no regrets on that investment and love them. They sound killer.

I was also dicking around music stores in charlotte and out of the many guitars that went through my hands, a fender select sounded and played just phenominal. I went home and slept on it, and felt terrible for not getting it. Drove back into town and snagged it. Since then I have not been able to put it down. Come to find out the neck profile is my absolute favorite - a modern C. The same profile i ordered custom on my MII.

Also ordered some new pickups for the strat. I posted a thread asking for pickup models on here a long time ago and jumped on one of the suggestions. Cannot wait to get them and put them in. It will make all of the difference, as they are much hotter than what is in it now :D

I still need to get speakers for my other cabinet, and still have quite a few guitars on my wants list. But so far I am quite pleased with my purchases and feel very solid about it all :rock:

Bro i had a childhood most would not envy and locking myself in my bedroom playing guitar was my escape. I totally understand

Plays like a dream, bought it off Ebay for $300 shipped. :rock: :rock:

Best purchase of the year for me was a G&L Rampage Tribute. It's about as basic a guitar as it gets but I frigin love it.
 
Earlier this year I bought my first "stage playable" guitar, built a guitar, built a pedal board, bought a bunch of pedals, bought a wireless system and bought a new amplifier...

The band I was in last year wouldn't recognize any piece of gear... Except maybe my wah
 
I have a two foot tall piggy bank that takes me a few years to fill up. This year, I filled it up and bought an EVH Wolfgang with nothing more than spare change. Plus, my friend who works at the store blew it out to me at dealer cost. Its a great axe and the price was out of this world good! I picked up a Laney Ironheart Studio and its the best low watt amp I've ever played. Its also packed with features. I also picked up an EBMM Axis and SG Afterlife module this year. Those are my great gear buys of 2013.
