For me it was getting back to channel switchers with my purchase of a Mesa Mark V. Amazing amp, and it's really caused a massive change in how and what I play on the guitar. Also, although it's not technically new, last January I sent my 1994 PRS CU24 to Philtone for a stainless Plek job and a new nut. The guitar came back exceeding my wildest expectations and is now getting almost all of my play time.

a few really good things actually:
finally bought a fender combo , a blues deluxe, swapped out the speaker, and it's one of the sweetest cleans/pedal platforms ever, kicking myself for not buying something similar sooner
an 83 jcm800 50watter 2204, has *that* tone, cleans up great with the volume knob, really dynamic and responsive, rockin amp
a vintage v52 icon telecaster, a cheapo tele with some upgrades on it, has serious tone/mojo about it
an ibanez rg721rw - natural wood look ibanez rg, absolute stellar guitar, after a quick setup and changing the stock pickups to dimarzio breeds (amazing pickups imo with the 24 fret basswood/maple neck combo) can't put the guitar down, can do all sorts of styles and sounds with it, plays stupidly well , still in the honeymoon period but loving it so far =0
overhauled my pedalboard/setup with the band, went to a flexible programmable bypass looper switcher with a built in a/b (a mooen gec-9) to go between the fender and a bass amp (i play bass and guitar through same rig/pedals), never sounded better

I haven't been in gear buying mode in years. Guess its one of the cool things when you find what you are looking for and happy with my tone. I really don't want anymore amps or cabs but would like a Kemper just for fun. I only bought one piece of gear in 2013, a used 2008 B7 (Gibson LPC 3 PU 47 RI black beauty) and totally happy with it as it has gotten the most playing time since I got back in March.
Not sure what is in store for 2014 but I suspect I'll have a R7 Gold top as I sort of started a trend of or LP a year for the last two years, may as well go for 3

I bought way too much in 2013!!!!
But at least I finally setting on a great amp and cab that gives me the sound I have been looking for.
This past year I got the following:
Marshall JVMHJS head
Marshall Slash SL-5 combo
custom Mesa 2x12
Ibanez JS2410 Satriani model
and....
the best edition to my studio was the Torpedo Live!
Still have it all and still enjoying it!
I do not want to buy anything else next year!
But at least I finally setting on a great amp and cab that gives me the sound I have been looking for.

The most insane thing? A new SC-58 from guitar center for 1799! The salesman was hoping it as awesome. It was. The price was insane. Even pointed out as insane. Of course it was a mistake, found at he register. Guitar Center honored the price!

Santa fave me a Hardwire DL-8 pedal. Sounds great. Enjoying the looper and modulated delays function functions the most. Tape delay is cool to

Found a deal I could not pass up on a Framus Dragon. Hands down the best amp I've owned! It can cover any tone I would need!

The kingsley jester has knocked me out, great overdrive pedal. Pricey, but still blows me away.
Also loving the Alex attenuator, it made my masco amp usable at home.

1976 Stratocaster Hardtail, a 1982 Les Paul Standard with the original Tim Shaw PAF's, a 2011 Les Paul Traditional Pro, a 1961 Reissue SG, and a late 90's Les Paul Standard Plus.

All I bought in 2013 were strings and picks.
2010-2012 were the big years for me with each piece of the puzzle finally getting me closer to the sound I wanted. This year was the year for me to reap the rewards.

At the beginning of 2013, I sold everything except my cables and two Bogner 412's.(an Uber and a Shiva) I had been using a fairly complex setup with a Shiva head, racked stomps, switching system, MIDI floor controller, and enough cabling to circle the globe twice, all of which was supposed to make things more convenient.(Damn you Rigtalk 
) Ive had a lot of fun over the past few years buying, trying, and flipping, but in the end I found myself wanting a rig that I could just plug a guitar into, and easily dial in the sounds I like.
So, this is the new Rig, and Ive never been happier with my tone.

i finished a couple of projects i wanted to get done. the best thing this past year is that our band finally found a good singer and front guy. that's number one. 
i always wanted to put this eminence and a scorpion in a closed back 2x12 cab.. sort of a retro version of the 75 vin 30 mix. found a gutted flextone and put them in there.. wired it 16ohms mono and paired it with my jca 2112 combo. killer.
also scored an empty crate open back 2x12 and loaded it with a pair of 1952 jensen blue bells.. p12r's. vht special 6 head and a tele.. i've got a very nice clean machine.
also my sister gave me her late husbands takamine eg10c for xmas. no one in her family plays so it sat for the last six years after he passed on. nice acoustic. cedar top and sapele sides.. back and neck. checking it out right now.
i also scored a lectrolab r 200 from my sister in law. basically a tweed champ killer.
i also scored a peavey xxl head earlier this year.
got my home use studio mostly put together this year too.

I got a ton of stuff this year.
Best thing I got all year was my two notes live. Makes recording so much easier, and it sounds great too which is a huge plus.
Also got, a Parker PM60, which is probably on its way out, a '97 G&L ASAT Classic, an Ibanez BTB405QM, a PRS Singlecut SE, and my pine 2x12 that I put together and tolexed with a pair of M75's. Also a new pair of monitors, some JBL LSR 2328P's and a Blue Bluebird and GAP Pre 73 mic pre. Still have a Maryland PRS on the way too which should get here before the year is up.
