Just wondering what you thought of it. I think they are great.

Had mine for 10 years, a lot of amps have come and gone, still got the XTC.

Have owned 2 x 100B's. Best amps on the planet. Amazing versatility, killer tone & is the core of my sound

I've got a 2010 model that I'm still lovin, I removed the post 2004 mod to the red channel and like it even more personally.
Its such a versatile amp and sounds huge even at lower volume.

I had a 101b. It was ok. Kind of underwhelmed by it. Saved up for months to get one and when I plugged it in I thought "that's it?"

Had a pre-2004 101b, post-2004 101b, Classic and 20th EL34

Meh

I owned a 101B back in '98 or so. Loved it. I was pretty young and wasn't able to buy and keep so I had to sell it to fund another amp purchase. But tbh, I wouldn't buy another one now. Just not my tone. I'm a Marshall kinda guy.

I had a 1998 101B for 10+ years and it is a great amp, but I wanted something more aggressive and Marshall like. You can't go wrong with one though.

Had a 101b for a while. Amazing amp. Everyone talks about the "blanket over the speaker" issue with them ... I didn't experience that at all but you do have to have presence over half to open it up ... IMHO.

Sold it after getting my BE-100 which just suits me better. Always felt like I loved the blue channel but wished it had just a touch more gain and crunch. Was a tiny bit too chewy and smooth for my taste. Red channel was great but had some fizzy overtones in the upper register which I could never dial out and always bugged me. Ended up swapping a whole bunch of NOS 12AX7s and if I remember correctly a combination of Amperex and Tungsram made it a bit better but did not completely solve it. It's an amazing amp, I'm just splitting hairs here ... would've kept it even after getting the BE-100 but needed some $$$.

One thing that drove me nuts was the footswitch, I went through 3 brand new ones straight from Bogner until I got one that worked properly.

have...since 2004, it ant going anywhere

Had one for a year and a half. Never could get what I wanted out of it. Im just not a Bogner guy. Moved on to other things.

I had a 101A for quite awhile. It was a great amp, but I don't really miss it. I would like to try one of the 20th Anniversary XTCs, but aside from that, I have no interest in Bogner any more (I've had XTC, Shiva and all the Uber revisions including twin jet).

I have had mine 101b since the mid 90's
And I still just dig it makes me smile every time I plug in.
For whatever reason I feel like it really articulates your playing by this I mean if you are having an off day you hear it and if you are having an on day you hear that as well it does not hide mistakes well .
If that makes any sence ?

20th Anniv EL34

Warm chewy, plenty of gain.
Rightly deserves it's place as one of the top amps

I bought one of mosaholic for 1850 around 2006.. just to try it out. It left pretty quick.. I prefer the marshall frequencies

I believe I bought an XTC off you on Harmony Central, probably around 5, maybe 6 years ago?

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the "sag" that the 101b has. You play through it, and it almost seems like the signal plays catch up when it hits the speakers. Not enough to seem like a delay pedal, but enough to notice that the "attack" isn't immediate, up front and in your face. When I jammed on my buddy's 101b rig, that was one of the first things I mentioned about it. I also saw in an early Bogner Helios vid that Prashant Aswani said the Helios was "Like the Blue channel of (his) 101b, but without the sag", so I can assume we aren't the only two who notice it.

The overall tone of the XTC amps are somewhat darker - which I really like, and lower-mid voiced, rather than upper-mids you typically find on Marshall style amps. Some people say because of this it's hard to cut through in a band mix, but I have not heard of that problem at all when watching my friends' band that has an XTC halfstack and a Fryette Sig:X halfstack. The Green/clean channel is rumored to be created in the same vein of classic Fender non-master volume amps, so to get the most out of it you have to crank the Green channel.

Experts please chime in and correct me if I'm not 100% on this.

One of my very few 'bucket list' amps that I want to own permanently is a 100b, but I think I would be equally as happy with the much more common 101b.

Own a lot of nice amps and my XTC classic gets the most use. Love it. Built like a tank and really versatile. Mine seems to have all the available options too. I did the "Cameron" mod to it also. One amp that isn't going anywhere soon.

I've owned about six 101B heads, and I still own one. I also still own an XTC Classic. Great amps!
