The definition for the word bigot rests upon other defining factors.
Merriam-Webster: Bigot;
-a narrow-minded person who obstinately adheres to their own opinions and prejudices*
-especially : one who strongly and unfairly dislikes or feels hatred toward others based on their group membership
*Prejudice: an irrational attitude of hostility directed against an individual, a group, a race, or their supposed characteristics.
-So if someone had rational reasoning for their actions - the actions would not fall under prejudice.
-If the actions do not fall under prejudice - then the person would not be a bigot.
Interesting.......
To be very clear - I am not stating I am for or against a group, just speaking about the language/word usage.
