My guitar tech had one of these on his bench a few years ago for a restring. Without thinking, he cut the strings off and started working on it, only to discover that no strings fit a baritone with a Bigsby. He had to custom order a set of Bass VI strings and tune it weird for the customer (which he was okay with). It was an ordeal.

If it don't come with strings, I'd pass on that.

So I pulled the trigger on one... if you go to his website he has the remaining ones discounted even more... in that dudes video you linked, he has a discount code that works with the discounted sale.. total ended up being like $280... he was out of cases so ill have to figure out what to do about that. Should be here by the end of the week.

I would bet he would take about $800. Peaveys are cool, that looks rare, and hey - made in USA. Also, you can try it in person and see if you dig it.

Edit: Just read about the others, that is a crazy deal. Even if you have to swap a lot out, not in for much.

Yeah, I have no idea how they are selling them at the non discounted rate, let alone the discounted rate.. what little bit I see about them online, I have not read any horror stories yet, and worst case I have some wall art.

Yeah, if its atleast playable ill be happy. I am trying to set my expectations pretty low. Anything better than the $300 guitars from 25 years or more ago and I will be thrilled!

I have owned three and never actually used them live, as getting them in tune was too time consuming.

With today’s effects you can create a pseudo 12 string sound that is good enough for most applications.

I've found that they are either cheap garbage that I wouldn't buy for firewood, or super expensive and out of my price range. I'm always afraid of the good ones because I've played so many bad ones that I wouldn't spend the money without playing it.

Plus, who does a 5 string fretted bass and a 4 string fretless in a double neck?
