I like Canadian bacon.

The best Canadian export is in my avatar.. :)

This is totally superficial but this is it....

I play at parties with friends in a jam band. Not a rock star like many of you. I don't play out enough for it to be 'work'.

I like playing a nickelcrack song if the women are getting wasted and doing their stripper dancing. That is a good time. Listening to it, or watching the band...? No... If its rock and its a party, hells yeah!

But remember the golden rule.

Vagina, it makes things better.
Who is the chick in the avatar? I've stared at it more than once...

 I would When I was young & worked in restaurants people ordered food I did not like & I had no problem with that. As a painter I could care less what color they want the house painted. Playing in bands I played plenty of music I was not a fan & really did not care. As for music if they wanted me to play "Happy Birthday" or "Old McDonald" or anything else I really do not care if it pays alright... Work is work......
Not me. I gotta enjoy what I'm playing or forget it.

I agree, but if music was the only thing that paid the bills, I would probably compromise. Hell, Nuno played with Rhianna, Steve Stevens with Janet Jackson, and Doug Aldrich is supposed to be working with Lady Gaga.

This could be accomplished just as easy with a Zep, Cult, Aerosmith or AC/DC song.......or you could just watch girls do this the old fashion way and go to a strip club

Shit, I'll say it. I fucking hate them. I hate the music. The Lyrics. Everything. I don't care they have good production, I don't care they have careers and make bank. The argument that anyone would wish to be in their shoes with the acclaim and the money etc is hollow and bullshit. Would you want to be in Bieber's band for the same result? I admit they have ability and talent. The way they use it is an abomination to me ear drums. I guess I'm the crazy one who only listens to music because of how it makes me feel as an art form. No artist's accounting portfolio makes a damn difference to whether the art form is any good and why it gets brought up as a saving grace eludes me to no end. For those who said they like the music, that's the only reason you need. I never fantasize about being in another musicians shoes, my shoes are just fine.

Lol!! Man, you need to chill, you're taking this internet stuff way too seriously!!

If they offer me a spot on Bieber's gig, yeah, I'll do it. When you're on stage playing for a living, it's a business, period. Art form my butt. If you want to make decent wages out of music, you gotta go where it's at.

Like you, I hang around on internet forums while they are in studio recording/working on something. In what shoes would you like to be?

I've always joked and said that their music caters to the lowest common demominator of human beings.

I'm not a fan. My daughter is. I took her to their concert this year (her first concert). I have to say it was very enjoyable. Quite honestly one of the best stage shows I've seen in 30 years of going to concerts. I don't quite understand all the hate, but whatever. Could be worse, as she could be into other genre's of music.

...and no, I don't need anybody to post samples of their lyrics or try and be an ass about it.

Good thing you were joking then, if not I would be worried. Personally I like a variety of band and genres, from ABBA to lamb of god, but my favorites are Van Halen, ac/dc and their likes. Most people would probably agree that NB has a few annoying lyrics etc, but they write catchy songs and play/record them well. To brand their audience as ignorant (as some people here have alluded to) is equally ignorant.

Would love to hear at least guitar music in commercial radio overe here. We are gang raped with gangsta rap, techno and über stupid reality personas trying every angle to maintain their "celeb" status.
I don't hear them too often, but their tunes are catchy.
Anyway Seel Panther Rocks. Spread the Shocker !

99% of those who claim they would never "compromise their art" will never have the opportunity to in the first place.

I agree, Bob. Probably 50% of the people that drop that line are more aptly referring to their wives trying to force them to hang their framed poster of George Lynch over their basement toilet bowl, instead of where it currently hangs in their living room.......

Too true!

Now you gone to meddlin'

:gethim:

Wow.. some musicians can sure be an arrogant bunch, and I'm referring to the pricks who are looking down their noses at NickleBack's target listening community... Remember that we are not all wired to like things the same way and just because *you* don't like a band doesn't mean that you need to rag on those who do.

I have my own opinions on NickleBack but WTF is the use of sharing them on the interwebz?

There are a handful of songs that I like on "The Long Road" album that fook'n rock, and I'll probably always like those tunes. Great riffing and pretty damn good recto tone if you ask me..

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with sharing your opinion. The problem I see is when we start being condescending and insulting to those who like it. Different strokes for different folks. Just because someone likes something different doesn't mean they're they're mouth breathing, knuckle dragging morons. To the contrary, I would question the intelligence of those who's logic fails them on the topic of all things subjective. It's adding injury to insult when the narrow minded fancy themselves artists.

AMEN!!!! I hate the sin not the sinner. Just because I hate Nickleback, doesn't mean I hate all the 40+ dudes at their shows donning "one size too small" Affliction shirts, knock off bell bottom true religion jeans, boy band highlights whilst they danced like monkeys fucking footballs. That would be shallow of me to look down my nose at them!!!

And what makes your ragging on the opinions of others who rag on the opinions of others any different?

Really? You don't see the difference between expressing an opinion respectfully versus sweeping condemnation of those who hold a different opinion than you do?
