I dont know about that, besides Gary Moore, Michael Schenker is my other favorite Guitar player. Its sad that I can mention him and Uli Roth to young Germans ( >25 or so) and they have no idea what Im talking about...

Im thinking that you need to relax and get over the whole style and stereotyping thing. It goes against the whole open minded educated thing that you somehow think that you have over others..

I don't know man, these guys get my vote.

I would When I was young & worked in restaurants people ordered food I did not like & I had no problem with that. As a painter I could care less what color they want the house painted. Playing in bands I played plenty of music I was not a fan & really did not care. As for music if they wanted me to play "Happy Birthday" or "Old McDonald" or anything else I really do not care if it pays alright... Work is work......

I'll be honest. I hate Nickelback.

In Canada we have something called the CRTC as our broadcast regulator. One of their regulations for pop programming is that Canadian stations must play 35% Canadian content. What this means is that when a Canadian act has a hit single you hear it every 10 to 15 minutes. What is also means is that once that hit single is burned out they fill programming gaps with formerly burned out singles of bands like Nickelback for years on end.

If it weren't for that I'd be indifferent towards Nickelback. I liked their first big album but they've basically been rehashing the same song formulae ever since. People point to their success and say that legitimizes their music, but the way I see it they've only remained on playlists because the record industry is too afraid to take risks so they have little mainstream competition. I don't think they would've lasted this long in previous decades.

I guess I'm the crazy one who only listens to music because of how it makes me feel as an art form.

I know it may be crazy but you have to realize that Nickelback's music makes many feel good. Remember, "art" is infinite, this is what makes it great and appealing to many. A true artist should not denounce another's work because it places boundaries on their own media, self-inducing parameters which acts against the freedom of art, which is what attracted them to practicing a particular form of art in the first place.

He kept rambling in between songs (which I hate anyway) trying to be funny and cool with his amusing anictodes?? I was expecting a "Be sure to tip your bartenders and waitresses" any minute. I would think, "Just shut the fuck up and play a song!" But then I had to listen to his contrived vocal rasp.....it was a long night. I will say that he does have some foxy guitar poses, is well accessorized with his thumb rings, chokers and scrunched up permed Lord Fauntleroy lid and such!! He is pretty much everything I despise in a lead singer! Was that too harsh?

I don't like their guitar sounds, I don't like Chad's "wannabe gravelly James Hetfield" vocals, and most of all I don't like their superficial, manufactured, made-for-commercial-radio, money-driven, cliche-sounding pop music.

Distorted guitar sounds does not make a song 'heavy'.

I play at parties with friends in a jam band. Not a rock star like many of you. I don't play out enough for it to be 'work'.

I like playing a nickelcrack song if the women are getting wasted and doing their stripper dancing. That is a good time. Listening to it, or watching the band...? No... If its rock and its a party, hells yeah!

But remember the golden rule.
