Why Wood Matters | Rules of Tone: Episode 1 | PRS Guitars

He doesn’t. I was talking about YOU appealing to him as an authority. Whether he is or he isn’t is irrelevant. He likes to get his ego stroked so keep going.
Lots of people on these boards have little to no experience with the actual instruments they talk about, that’s just a fact. I’m saying when asking questions like this those folks’ opinions are worthless. The people whose opinions you should be focusing on are those who actually have experience with dozens of different guitars on stage and/or in the studio. Hobbyists who bang out a few Metallica riffs at home a through EMGs a couple times a month are great but irrelevant to this discussion

This kind of study has all the hallmarks of being plagued by error.
To even gather a valid data set hundreds of identical samples of wood (at the same mass) on multiple machines against both wide from the same tree, and others of the same species.
In acoustic guitar, sure… where mechanical resonance is the means of amplification. But electrics use electromagnetic inductance. Wood quality and properties are NON MAGNETIC and thus have no influence over an electrical circuit.

Because is somehow matters?

You apparently don't understand when something is actually an appeal to authority fallacy

It's only a fallacy if the appeal is irrelevant - that's what makes something an informal fallacy in the first place, do you not understand that?

So you incorrectly identified an "appeal to authority" fallacy, and apparently don't even understand why it's not an appeal to authority, because you don't even understand what constitutes an informal fallacy in the first place ROFL

What exactly do you believe a pickup is amplifying. The strings only? It’s already a given that a guitar is a system not parts in isolation. Materials in the neck and body are coupled—by what degree relative to the method of attachment—which is coupled to the strings. Material density influences the vibration and frequency response.

Different materials reflect and absorb different frequencies of light…. Think about it.

Take a loop of wire (not even a coil) and attach each end to a volt meter… poke a magnet 🧲 through it and or a screwdriver and watch the needle move on the meter… congratulations… you just induced VOLTAGE.
now do the same thing with a popsicle stick see what happens. Nothing.

Physics.

I don't know how I can articulate this any more simply the biggest cuck, but an appeal to authority is not just "someone else's judgement whom i disagree with"

it's when whatever is being appealed to is irrelevant to what is being discussed AND is supposed to be believed

That’s the fallacy… he appealed to you… as if. You’re like taking to my teenage granddaughter.

Dude did you not even read his comment? He's making the argument that he would trust more experienced players judgement on this, and then just used me as an example of a more experienced player

It can't be an appeal to authority because i haven't taken a position on the tonewood debate :ROFLMAO: And I don't have a hardcore opinion one way or the other honestly

He's just saying people should value others experiences

You throw shit around trying to sound intelligent but dont even realize how idiotic it makes you sound, like a 4 year old saying "AH YES INDUBITABLY GOOD SIR I WOULD LIKE A CAPRI SUN AT NAPTIME"

Rather than the laws of physics? Good luck 🍀

I swear to god, the anti-tonewood guys are going to turn me into a tonewood true believer just by making insufferable, pseudo-intellectual midwit arguments until I explode

rather than the definitions of words and concepts? Good luck :censored::ROFLMAO:
I’m having a great time with this. It’s tremendously entertaining watching you get sideways. That’s the best part of watching the blind leading the blind into hole.

You're wasting time arguing with a guy who has a hard time figuring out what sub-forum his threads belong in.

at this point its like a pile of dogshit with a top hat and monocle smoking a pipe saying "mmmm yes, quite, per se, logical fallacy"

I just want you to use the logical fallacy correctly you retard, i dont give a shit about the tonewood debate :ROFLMAO:

I r

Ok I read it. You should too. There’s nothing in it even remotely suggesting that the wood affects or induces electrical signal.

The END.
Of course wood isn’t going to induce electrical signal, unless it’s vibrating. Neither are the strings.

Wood just effects the overall sound of the guitar in conjunction with the strings which is translated into an electric signal via the pickups. The whole point of the discussion/thread in the first place.

The end.

The end.

Metal moving through a coil creates voltage. A string vibrates - oscillates in the pickup’s magnetic field. The wood is organic and non ferrous and unaffected by the magnetic resonance. It’s what makes surviving an MRI possible.
