Wizard MTL Mk2 tones

Sounds good. Interesting that you don't like the bright set high. I need to have it set at 3:00 on all my Wizards. I run the presence up high too. Gives it a more raw and aggressive sound.

I think they all sound a little different over the years after 2016. I still have my 2016 MTL and 2019 KT150, but sold off a newer 2020 MK2 el34 and 2021 Mk2 Hybrid el34. I have a 2021 mk2 6L, and that's right up there with my older ones. They're all similar in certain respects, other than the character of the mids. The KT150 are a little tighter and punchier as well, but much more full in the mids.

I was doing the same thing with bright and presence but lately I noticed that keeping the bright around 5-6 and pumping the treble to 7-8 makes the upper mids more present without being harsh in the treble. Still, I am experimenting. How you all set yours?

The amp is inherently dark but there are many ways to push the upper mids and treble so it can definetely rip your head off. Being said that, I am still curious on MCII and Hell Razor. The comparison videos of @Brandonrz sounds incredible and definetely tempting.

Yeah there are many different sounds which are all good and all these knobs to be past noon I think. Still, I am enjoying the boosted Rhtyhm channel A LOT. I was not expecting this at all.

I need to do some recordings with a loadbox or so to push the amp enough the hear it’s full potential.
