Would you buy/play a guitar with no tone control?

My Gretsch Brian Setzer hot rod has no tone knob and I really don't miss it. I like having a tone control on my strats, that is the guitar I use the tone knob the most. For me its a feature I like to have, but not one I have to have....

I like having one on a SC bridge pickup in my Strat and on stock Teles but could live without on most everything else.

Actually with a strat i would have one hooked up to the bridge SC, sometimes need to roll back on the harshness, especially with something like texas specials.

on a superstrat, nope, just a volume control is plenty

Sure. I never use the tone control. I usually wire my guitars to have 2 volumes controls, so if there is only 1 vol and 1 tone, theres no room for that tone anyway. My ibby has 3 knobs, so its got 2 vols and 1 tone. My ninja has 2 volumes.

+1

with singles or P90's the tone knob is very useful...especially with the bridge pickup.

I like to have a tone control, since I roll off the neck pickup from time to time, but I also play a few guitars that don´t have them and it doesn´t really bother me.
