I may go this route with the AC4, I like my JangleBox with it too; however, I'm starting to GAS for a large Vox amp (like an AC100CPH, which has a high gain channel (along with an AC30-like TB channel)). I'd like to get a boost/overdrive pedal that I could use to push the clean TB channel to overdrive, and push the high gain channel from overdrive/distortion to lead tones. Just thinking out loud, as it will take some time to get the gear fund rebuilt after I decimated it with new Rics.
I've heard good things about the OCD, Tim/Timmy, BB and AC to push a tube amp, even the EH LPB-1 for that matter. I'm not a high gain person, but I need several tones from an amp (clean, crunch/overdrive, distortion, liquid lead) to make it work - with the two channels on the AC100 + the right dirt box, I should be good to go...I think?
I figured my old stomp boxes from the '70s (I have an EH Small Stone, Screaming Bird, Golden Throat II, Big Muff Pi and probably some others; MXR distortion+, MicroAmp, probably some others) but they've been boxed for years, and several moves into several basements, attics etc., so I doubt they work. How can tell the model/series numbers or dates? Any good sources on the web that could help me date these? I'd likely sell them though I may keep a few if they are working!
